I used to mix my own soil back in the day. I absolutely hated it! Once I discovered FF soils I've never looked back. Sure, it's a little pricey but I always get good results, and I don't have to track down all the stuff and mix my own! Good thread bro!:weed:

Like it! Wish more peeps would do side by sides. Soon I'll have the resources to keep some consistent side by side logs.

Cmon Golden. I thought you weren't gonna buy the RO garbage! if you remember our discussion before I was debating that RO is working better than FF for me. But i have yet to try OF so can't jump to any conclusions. But the proof is in your pudding.
i still have some RO. I'm going to buy a bag of OF and try the same study.
If you remember i was speaking of a study i found on the net with heirloom tomatoes grown in both and RO outperformed OF. They're obviously different soils with different components. My hydro described RO to be less hot than OF which is why i opted for it.
Believe me, I love FF. however i would like to prove you wrong. The reason being that my last two batches of Happy Frog ( i understand they aren't the same animal whatsoever) had ph that was so unstable and heard similar stories of the same problem. Most people blamed it on the plant it was manufactured at
. but rep my brotha! you proved OF performed better in this one.
can't wait to try it. and hope to prove you wrong., or hope to prove myself wrong.. either way it'll be a win win situation.. with nothing but best intentions.:blsmoke:

Ha, I did not buy it. U see after 2 years I'm like "what if?" so I said throw a couple free bags and we will see. Well way back when I first started I lost 3 seedlings, even transplanted a super lemon haze that was not thriving in the RO ~into FFOF. Now it looks Irie. Oh anyways I watched them grow and the RO plants where slower than FFOF. Then they started to bud and that was enough for me to call sides.
Yeah this was a HONEST side by side.

i agree with you! if you had only used 2 seeds i would say it could just be genetics, but 4 seeds, 2 of each strain.... same results with both strains... that sounds like all the proof i need! thanks for the informative science project!

Ok I just posted in #2 from my journal. That way you have the full spectrum of why I think RO is not as great as "Eugene,Or" thinks it is.

What a nice double blind study you got here. I'll kick off the trolling until riddleme finds this post. From my personal experience FFOF is not ph stable. It caused me a ton of trouble about 3 weeks ago after a transplant. Mixed the other two bags I had into my vegetable garden. Hopefully I pull $50 worth of tomatoes out of that patch.

I do like fox farms light warrior and will continue to use it for germinating my seedlings. I've read good things about happy frog. HF is suppose to be ff's top of the line soil.

I've never used roots, but I'm done paying top dollar for soil that still disappoints.
