So I mixed nutes last night 2.5 gallons u used 35ml micro nutes, 12.5ml veg nutes and 35ml nutes of flower and my ph came out at like 5.6 tried adding ph up and it took a lot to get to 6 for my ph was shooting for.6.3 ph but would have required more ph up so I said fuck.it and just watered with the 6ph ...im using 50/50 ffof and happy frog this is for autos

FYI

the higher the ppm, the more PH up or down it will take to move it.

for example

if you put the smallest drop of ph up or down in distilled water, then your ph would sky rocket either way. why? because the water is so pure, a little bit goes a very long way.

but when your feeding at 500 ppm or something, you could have to use 9 mil of up or down just to get it where you need it.

and my nutes makes my ph drop, so if i had adjust then then yes, i also have to go up. (but i use vegan nutes, where its absolutely unnecessary to adjust the ph)

General Organics bro. That's what i use. It's Veganic minus 2 parts, Diamond Black, and BioMarine.

They got the GOBOX for under $40 with the entire line in it.

If you are gana do soil, just go organic and put your PH/PPM meters away.
i cant agree with this

testing the run off water tells you everything about how your roots are doing. dont be silly

for example

run off water that is low in ph is somewhat likely to also have a high ppm. this means you have a salt build up and need to flush to correct the soil

run off water that has a high ph is likely to have a low ppm, which means your plant needs more nutes to correct the soil

you want your run off water to be slight acidic compared to what you watered. so basically 5.8 or 6. (soil ph is somewhat opposite of hydro. you want the ph to drop to let you know old salts are being washed out and you see the buffers in your soil working. hydro the water becomes alkaline when roots begin to use up their nutes). and you want your ppm to be a little under what you are feeding, but that really depends on the existing nutes in the soil and several other things as well.

point is, ph will usually let you know when there is a problem

not to mention, why would you not want to have a ppm meter? its like doing algebra with out a calculator. . .
