few questions

Hey, this is my first grow, and i'm using regs since i don't want to buy some fire seeds and kill them ;-)

but i was wondering about my lighting arrangement...

i have a 19 watt florescent bulb i used to use to keep my old lizard, who died, warm.

...is it possible to use that 19 watt bulb to grow a plant? im fully aware that it will not be as effective as a 1,000 watt bulb.

but if it won't work, i'm sure i can get a better light..any suggestions on a light that is somewhat cheap, but effective?

///

one more thing, i plan on growing this in my garage, and it gets about 60 degrees in there at night, will this be a problem?

-thanks, now ima go smoke a bowl and wait for somebody to help me :bigjoint:

get a 400 watt hps and make a 3x3x8 room with an adequate exhaust fan get temperature switch from the local hardware store to hook to your exhaust and set it to 80.... when your room reaches 80 it will cycle on and cool it off the hps will keep it plenty warm in ther..... or if you wanna go the cfl rout get as many 26 watt cfls as you can and surround the plant with them get 4 and 2 y spliters and sockets to start with and add more when the plant grows... 19 watts wont get ya too far

ah, sorry i should have been a little bit more detailed with my arrangement...

im growing it in a small corner in my garage, with a budget of about 50$. this is just kind of a project for me to get into since I've found i have way too much free time on my hands..
i'd like to see what its like to grow a plant before i invest in a 100$^ light and do all that stuff to my garage..

i was just wondering if it was possible to grow a plant in a 60 degree room with a 19 watt florescent light

please and thanks ;]

Hey Bong,

Flouros is also an option mixed in with CFL. I'm starting to see that proper CFL grows can yield some impressive bud. Flouros is great for veg and then you can supplement with cfl.

fluro's will work but cfl's are better floros spread the lummens out over 2 or 4 feet of bulb where cfl is more concentrated......... go with cfl read the cfl forum it will teach you much info like daylicgt or cool white cfls for veg and warm for flower
