Few Questions About Micro Growing

Hey, so i nearly finished my pc grow case but i have some questions to ask. I red lots of guides but in my mind still something is missing. I'm italian, so please don't expect a good grammer.

First of all i bought a 485-189-425mm L-W-H (19.1-7.4-16.7inch) pc case with a 120mm intake&exhaust fan and 4x70w 2700k cfl's. Here are my questions.

1) I think that the strain that i'll plant, must be a dwarf strain so i'm looking for something like Lowryder Easy Ryder (AKA Lowryder #2 x AK47) but i you have any other type of strain to suggest, i would be glad to know.

2)Autoflowering seeds seems cool and simple. Daylight bulbs for 20/4 cycles. Are they efficient and good? Is it better to plant a normal one?

3)What is the best method to keep your plants height low? Topping? Training?

4)Can i train every kind of strain? Even if they are autoflowering or short seeds?

5)Here we do not have the nutritiens or the soil that you guys are using. Can i simply choose a soil by it's pH value?

6)The water should be near at 7.0 pH. But is it the feeding water or the run-off water?

7)And how much water?

For now that's all i guess. Thank you very much for your help.

Not sure

2)Autoflowering seeds seems cool and simple. Daylight bulbs for 20/4 cycles. Are they efficient and good? Is it better to plant a normal one?
I have yet to try one, so again uncertain.

3)What is the best method to keep your plants height low? Topping? Training?
You'll get varying answers to this one. I prefer training myself as I see quicker growth.

4)Can i train every kind of strain? Even if they are autoflowering or short seeds?
Yes any plant or strain can be trained, however shorter plants gain less benefit. As they are already short and close to the light, but you can get more tops so it's still worth while.

5)Here we do not have the nutritiens or the soil that you guys are using. Can i simply choose a soil by it's pH value?
It should be a factor, but things like soil composition (drainage etc.) I would consider more important. You may want to do a search on that one as there are a few good threads on the subject.

6)The water should be near at 7.0 pH. But is it the feeding water or the run-off water?
Mostly you want the water PH'ed so it can absorb the nutrients you add to the water. If you aren't adding nutes to the water, there's little point in ph'ing the water other then to add more unneeded salts. I would recommend adding dolomite lime to the soil to buffer the soil PH, then you likely won't even need to PH your nute water, because the lime in the soil will balance the PH.

7)And how much water?
Tricky one, as it depends on the plant/root system and size of the pot. But generally water them when the pot they are in feels light.

For now that's all i guess. Thank you very much for your help.

lowryder all the way if its your first grow it would be best suited for you and its height is the lowest of the low.

2)Autoflowering seeds seems cool and simple. Daylight bulbs for 20/4 cycles. Are they efficient and good? Is it better to plant a normal one?

lowryder can produce up to a half o every plant in two months efficent in terms of speed but as far as clones you cant get any since they are AF but lets be honest....where are you gonna keep a mommy in a pc

3)What is the best method to keep your plants height low? Topping? Training?

with lowryder you wont have to worry about height. with as much light as your pushin youll be fine and wont have to deal with lst or scroging

4)Can i train every kind of strain? Even if they are autoflowering or short seeds?

5)Here we do not have the nutritiens or the soil that you guys are using. Can i simply choose a soil by it's pH value

you could buy a nuteless soil and add perlite and use compost teas and go completely organic but lowryder doesnt require alot of nutes it can be grown in nuteless soil under a 21 watt cfl and still produce sweet sticky buds (less than 5 grams) but many other AF wont turn out as good without good nutes

6)The water should be near at 7.0 pH. But is it the feeding water or the run-off water?

7)And how much water?

you still need the 2400k and 6500k lights. Switch them from the 6500k (daylight) to the 2400k when you see buds start to form. You can grow any plant, just 12/12 if from seed and it should fit in. If not, do a little bit of toping
3)What is the best method to keep your plants height low? Topping? Training?
LST, I usually just bend it once and let it grow
4)Can i train every kind of strain? Even if they are autoflowering or short seeds?
I wouldn't top autos, they are on a set schedule to veg -> flower, so if you top them you lose a few days of growth while it tries to repair it self. If its growing too big I suggest you top it though.
5)Here we do not have the nutritiens or the soil that you guys are using. Can i simply choose a soil by it's pH value?
just get some regular seedling soil, and some perlite. Make sure you mix a lot of perlite so the plant doesn't get too wet and die. I suggest you buy nutrients online if you can't get them locally. Hydroponic nutrients work on soil and is what I suggest. General Hydroponic is probably the best for the money.
6)The water should be near at 7.0 pH. But is it the feeding water or the run-off water?
feeding water. Runoff is usually higher.
7)And how much water?
until it runs out the bottom slightly

For now that's all i guess. Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you guys for your answers but i still have a question for Nusky. Mod, you said that i still need 2 kind of lights and change them manually. But it seems strange to me. I mean if it is called 'autoflowering', why i should be the one to decide when the plant is ready for flowering. I always thinked that the plant itself does when it feels ready to.

well the plant still required different kinds of light to be efficient. These autoflowers were made to be grown outside in little pots where the sun provides a full spectrum of light. But a CFL doesn't provide a full spectrum. Only thing autoflowering means is that it will vegetate for a while and then flower by it's self. The autoflowering comes from ruderalis which was found mainly in the russian mountains where the plant doesn't get that much light so instead of needing more than 12 hours of light on and 12 off it can get any amount of light.

So this dwarf auto strain is a good one for me to grow in a pc in that dimensions. So i should set the lights like 18/6 6500k-veg and 12/12 2700k-flo. Thank you for the perfect explanation Nusky. :)

nah you don't have to switch the amount of light at all, sorry for the confusion. Lowlife (an autoflowering strain producer) suggests you use 20/4 through the whole grow. When you see hairs starting to form switch to the 2700k lights. Start with the 6500k though until you see the hairs
