Hello there, Help would be appreciated. I am curious about when i should first top dress my autos with gaia green in fox farm happy frog soil. I watch mr canucks grow but he uses coco and im not sure if it would be different. They are about 5 weeks old and are looking really healthy. I am growing Northern Lights, and Gelato, which apparently yield really high. The reason i am curious is because happy frog already has stuff in it and i dont want to risk overfeedling the autos. I regularly PH Test my soil and water to make sure its within the proper range. Havent seen any nutrient deficiencies yet. Anyways thanks for the help.

Dry amendments take time to break down, happy frog is pretty mild on the fertilizer you can give it a light dressing first week or 2. I use dr earth at 1tbsp/gal soil in veg at week 2 I’m using a hotter soil though too.

Okay awesome so i guess it would be safe to give my plants the first dose, im going to use 50/50 gaia 4-4-4 and 2-8-4. I just wasnt sure when to give the first feed. I did however give them worm castings and some cal mag last week but i guess its probably a good idea to top dress before a deficiency comes up?

Awesome thanks, i swear by worm castings, Im going to add that instead of the 444 just in case they need a bit of nitrogen throughout flower, i guess the 2-8-4 has nitrogen in it as well so it shouldnt be a problem. Here is a pic of my autos. The two bigger plants are 5 weeks old, and the other two are just about 3 weeks. So far these autos are responding well to everything ive been doing. They seem to be growing by the day.

When using GAIA, do you still need to regularly feed your plants? Or will this burn them? I’m looking to top dress my plants in flowering rn/start top dressing my plants in veg for future grows and I’m wondering how this will change my feeding schedule? Also if the Happy Frog soil I’m using already has earth worm castings in it, won’t this GAIA amend/reactivate them so I shouldn’t need to add more?

Agreed . I find my little recipe below gives happy frog a solid foundation.
70% Happy Frog
15% Perlite
15% Earthworm castings
Amended with:
Dr Earth Veg at 1/2 Strength
Dr Earth Flower at 1/2 Strength
(75% Veg, 25% Flower to start (ratios))
I go 1/2 strength to start just because I can always boost feed, hate flushing if overfed.
PH for water??? I have well water, 60' deep. It's packed full of micro nutes.. It's about 7.8. I add 2 tiny drops of lemon juice. Brings it down to like 7.3. Don't want to destroy the iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese.

Topdress after 25 days
50% Veg
50% Flower
(again at day 50 w/75% Flower 25% ratios)

Every 2 weeks I like a really super simple compost tea of EWC+Molasses+Liquid Kelp.

I run autoflowers only. I just enjoy growing em. It's fun to make them as big as possible , and also grow multiple strains. Id rather have 4 diff strains, smaller plants vs than 1 giant plant single strain

If anyone has a question about "can you amend Happy frog". or. "is happy frog hot soil".... I personally say no, it is preeeeetty much just dirt. It's just good dirt
ANNNNNND.....Ocean Forest for seedlings??? YESSSSSSS!!!! But, put a top layer (2"), of happy frog or something. Oh, and it also needs Potassium, bad. Give ocean forest some Langbeniete 0-0-22. It has nada for K.

Just thought I'd offer a few little thoughts on Happy Frog. It's just dirt. Feed it boys, feed it.

Yes. I add some 4-4-4, worm castings, and perlite for my freshly rooted clones. Then transplant into amended promix 3 weeks later.
I CAN'T FIND MY PROMIX ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! IM NOT spending 79$ on Amazon!! Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot????? Where do they have it? my nearest hydro store is a loooooong drive.
