Fertilizer? Bag soil? is it necessary for a beginner outdoor woods grow? (first time)

Hello,

First off, I apologize if this has already been covered. I'm growing about 5 auto flowering indica plants in the woods of New England for my first grow. Are fertilizers, bag soil, water crystals, .etc really necessary? The plants aren't gonna be getting tons of light and I know light is crucial. Is there any way to supplement this at least a little bit? If I was gonna introduce additives would it be best to mix them right from the start or gradually/as needed?

Thank you for the help, have a great day!

Hey dude, did a big whole for each plant and chuck in some strong pre fertilised compost. Mix some bat guano in and some mycorrhizal fungi, and hope for the best

I could be wrong but the woods will most likely be an acidic soil, at least around here, and why no light? maybe find a good well exposed area first.

Its well worth your while taking the Ph of the local soil and mixing in many ferts to improve the local soil, but ....this should have been done in winter, or early spring, it still can be done, but prep is best done 'post planning' right now a general long term slow release fertilizer and water crystals is the best route

ok, so PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, but from what I gather, you want to grow in poor soil, AND poor light? Are you sure about all of this? just seems like a recipe for disappointment to me. I do wish you the best luck, but it's gonna be a BIG challenge to make anything of any quality under those conditions....
I mean couple those conditions with the typical "first-grow" mistakes and I think it
s just a time-consuming thing that may not reward you much, or at all. I really do hope for the best for you, but i'd re-think it all, personally.
