For some reason, all the plants I have grown so far in smart pot have very small stalks. I dont know but I am not impress with the smart pot so far. My next batch will be a mix match of containers because I have to experiment some more. The fact that they are 12/12 from seeds doesnt matter because the previous run each plant had a stalk the size of a nickel. Anyway. They still yield well so far , maybe the plants are more efficient.

Endo I think the air pots may work better than smart pots. I know you have to pour slower when watering though. I have not used them. I use grow bags i punch a shit load of holes in them. It works. I get thick ass stalks. Ive noticed lower buds getting bigger than they did prior to making those. I also switched nutes and started mixing nutes in the soil instead of guano teas at that time too.. they could all be a factor.

I had a mom in a 2 gal for 4 months then transplanted it into a 5 gal. When I did that, there were no visible roots at all. It looked like a block of soil. the same goes for the ones that finished when i took out the old soil to compost.

Yeah air pots are cool but as you say its better to trickle feed them I tried smart pots and I didn't like the way they were flexible when moving the plants around to water to much motion causes stress in my eyes null and voiding any benefits they might have but maybe that's just me tried it didn't like it :)

I have about 15-18 7gallons smart pot now so I will keep using them hehe. I dont think I was giving them enough water but at the same time they never showed any signs of being thirsty. And I dont like how you stress the root system everytime you move them around. They do help keeping the floor clean though. I gotta to experiment some more, but I will definitely be using the plastic containers on my next runs. (the Agent Orange is in 10g right now and is doing better than anything else in the room.)

I heard watering in the air pots is a nightmare and since my woman has to take care of my plants every once in a while, this is not an option. I try not to do too many changes at once too so if I notice a difference in the growth I ll have an idea of what it might be causing it. But so many things can influence a grow to be better or worse. I am trying to develop a system that allows me to get the most out of the least work hehe

THANKS!! I am blown away too haha. It was a pretty easy/fast grow. I think I must be around day 60 in the tent. 12/12 from seed makes it hard to keep track of the flowering time, I think the hairs were coming out July 10th on all of them. More pics As soon as I am chopping the Chemos!! (tonight!?)

I just remembered I had given a nice flower to a friend of mine from the one I just harvested (about 1 week ago) and I also had 2 little nugs on the counter this morning ,.... so I am gonna call it a 1 oz plant! She might have been the first to flower that is why she came out first I guess I dont understand why the BerryBomb isnt ready yet!!

Thank you all for your comments! :bigjoint:

With my air-grow bags. Water does trickle out the holes. But it lands on the saucer. The saucers do fill up with water sometimes. Within 10 min, the plant soaks it back up into the soil. Almost like a flood n drain with pots.

I just cracked my samplers (from the plant I harvested 36 hours ago...) to see if they were dry enough to smoke, and the smell that came out holly mama It will be a good morning.

I thought I would put some colour into your day, here are 2 runts grown under the blackstar and the HSS in my cabinet. They have been outside for about 2 weeks because I needed the space in the cabinet and I didnt really like them. Now I like them more and I look forward to smoke them. I think they are Chemos. They started to push pink hairs and they look kind of purdy in my yard and they have a strong smell for their size thats for sure!

Update on the Agent Orange. I decided not to veg the others because there is no point with my setup. Maybe I got lucky with this one but it seems like Agent Orange does very well 12/12 from seed.

Thanks Dawg, Those buds are long gone, I had a double session in the morning.

I just harvested the 2 Chemos, probably shy of 2 oz between the 2. As usual, not huge yielders, it doesnt look too impressive, but man I love this strain (I ordered a pack of 10 just now,... again!!) Please ask for a smoke report if I forget to do so. I am sure it will be as good as the usual. I will veg them next time because it doesnt do so well 12/12 from seed and especially with my style of not cutting anything because it grows massive leaves that keep the light from getting to the buds. I am disappointed with the yield but there was no popcorn bud what so ever, not even one. everything is A1 prime quality buds. Did I say I love this strain!? I am actually going to look into getting the original that was developped in the 70's by the University of British Columbia and compare it with the new version from Jordan of the Island (the one I have been growing...) I hope all is well in your grow room as well!

Happy Growin everyone! :bigjoint:

hehe no I got bad hands (also, it will take a long time to recover from cutting my tendons!) and I am simply holding the buds instead of the stems when I trim them. When I am done trimming my left hand is sticky ,... and yeah I smoked it :bigjoint: And it worked again, I am high.

This morning I harvested one of the Sativas, 230grams wet ... should dry out to be 2 oz. She was so frosty, from top to bottom. You can see on one picture I left 2 little buds on her, thats all there was for popcorn. I am very impress with the lower buds in the tent so far, its good because I can get lazy sometimes and with my setup its hard to get to my plants to clean them up. Anyway, maybe I should reveg this one as well!! if only I had room for her. I didnt leave quite enough green matter on her to reveg but we'll see. The smell is oufff so so yummy

IMG_6954.jpgIMG_6956.jpgIMG_6952.jpgIMG_6953.jpgIMG_6955.jpg

This other one is the Chemo that was in the same container as the SLH in the cabinet up until a month ago when I transfered it in the room. I harvested it a couple days ago, so its not dry enough to try!! Anyway, Its a silly yield, I didnt even bother with the weight. I tried something with it though I dried it without trimming it. I dont know that I will do this again because it sucks to trim afterward but it does seems like the plant packed on more crystals while drying. Maybe its in my head I dont know... but this is going to be some fine smoke, I am sure it will be the best smoke I have going at the moment unfortunately it will not last! It appears to be the pheno with the taste/smell that I like so much. I really got to grow this strain successfully this winter...

haha thanks Dawg. I just harvested the Berry bomb, it will probably be about an oz or slightly more. I didnt take any pictures because I was drinking beer and got lazy, I will try to get pics of the dry buds. More or less the same than the last update on her except the hairs were a little more brown and the trichs were all milky with a few amber. Its really nice buds, very dense and a clean simple smell, not too stinky, not much smell in the house while trimming her.

The main stalk is so small on those plants in the tent. Even the one that I might harvest tomorrow that was in the center of the tent all along, it should easily be 2oz maybe 3+, its got a stalk smaller than a dime!!, not sure what to think of this I guess the yield is pretty good for their size, I am tempted to blame it on the smart pots or simply some strains/seeds really dont take well under 12/12 from seed. I have seen huge stalks in 7-10gallons plastic containers without vegging.

Dubbie time, Happy smoking everyone :bigjoint:

Good morning, its time to celebrate!! I just harvested my first 1/4lbs plant 12/12 from seed and also first one under LEDs. I did not realise how much weight was on there but each cola was so firm and heavy. 450 grams wet, again, very few popcorn buds, and I looked at the trichs on them too and they were also frosty and ready. I am about to go back to work for a few weeks so the timing was perfect. I still have 2 plants from this run to be harvested, one of them had fallen over (I didnt realise all the plants around were holding her...) but I tied her up and they are going to finish up nicely. I am thinking at least 3oz between the 2, maybe more. Its looking like 12oz when it will be all set and done, I am stoked!! considering the tent is all sucked in its less than 3x3 so anything over 1oz per sq.ft. is bonus!!!

IMG_6975.jpgIMG_6986.jpgIMG_6984-2.jpgIMG_6984.jpgIMG_6982.jpgIMG_6980.jpgIMG_6979.jpgIMG_6978.jpg

The drying rack, the very left is the 2oz Sativa, next the 1/4lbs, next the 1oz berry bomb and at the right end is 2 oz of Chemos, the First one that I harvested which I suspected to be the Red Dragon is jarred and smells to die for TO DIE FOR
