Feminized PPP = male

Someone enlighten me.....
I don't understand how they can promise female seeds. Feminized seeds are exactly that ...they're feminized....thats all. They are feminized due to the method in which they were bred...they are only more likely to be female due to manipulated chromosome inheritance. Therefore, there will always be that small chance that a Y chromosome may be contributed....right?

According to this site a feminized seed produces genetically female plants, no Y chromosomes involved:

The pollen is used from these male flowers to pollinate the rest of the female flowers thus producing seeds that do not contain a male chromosome. Whilst that means they cannot be male, it also means that they carry a hermaphrodite chromosome alongside the female one, so they can be female or genetic hermaphrodites."

You don't know what you are talking about man, there is a guarantee in feminized seeds. They are made to be feminized. Have you ever used feminized seeds? Just because you are too stingy to drop some extra bucks on feminized seeds doesn't mean that it is a sales pitch. Many people on this forum including myself use feminized seeds with no problems. Sorry to hear about the male cowabunga, I'm guessing they just accidentally sent you regular seeds instead of feminized.

just for the record, I bought ppp fem seeds from nirvana, all germed, and all were female.

Zigzag - Your experience is probably what typically occurs. No doubt an honest mistake in my case. I just now received 5 feminized PPP replacements from Nirvana as promised. Alice rocks!
