you need to switch to 12/12 for that.
about 2 weeks in of that , youll be certain if its a Alpha or feline

you DO NOT have to switch to 12/12 to show a plants sex it should naturally show after 5-6 weeks when the plant is begining to mature. if u want to force your plants to show 2 weeks of 12/12 should do it - if you find this post helpful plz +rep

Plants generally become sexually mature during the veg cycle around weeks 5 or 6 at which time they will preflower showing their sex....no need to flip to 12/12 just to determine sex..........

on the branch nodes (3rd or 4th or 5th):

ball on a stick = male (100%)
pear shaped thing = female (most likely)

............allrite sit back and wait 6 weeks if you like.
if you want to know the sex ASAP, switch the light

Just for clarity, a Pistil is, the Stigma, the calyx, and the ovary. The actualy white hair you see is called the Stigma.

The best and in my opinion the only way that you can sex a plant without the worrie of any plants getting pollonated, is to clone then root them then put on 12/12 off.you could still do this by topping the plants but if they have been veging for the amount of time you say then i would put on 12/12 off then keep a close eye on them.But for future grows,always flower clones this is the only way like i said more than not unless you have been growing for a good few years.If you are new to growing then there is too much risk,by this i mean you could miss one male that shows its sex late and this will cause all kinds of problems.I would say that there is a few things you can keep a eye out for though the larger plants are often more likely to be males,also follow the stem up where a set of brances nodes come away from the stem look for any small tear dropped shapes,any always go with if in dought throw it out.
