Fem seeds

What exactly are fem. seeds, I know they grow females, but is it 100%? If I do everything wrong, too much light, temp too high, (everything from Videoman's list) will they still be Female?

Also does anyone know if it is possible to feminize seeds in any of our grows? basiclly I can asking how do they feminize a seed?

hold seeds in right hand above your head, shake them like dice while yelling "daddy needs a new pair of shoes" and shazaam fem seeds

I read in a growing book that it's to do with taking the pollen from a male flower, that has grown on a female plant, and using it to pollinate other female flowers. I'm not sure how common these male flower or do you use it to pollinate different plants or the same plant etc. but that's basically it.

It's more or less a 50/50 chance. I also heard keeping plants on a 16/8 timer will induce feminine plants as well. Not sure to how true this is, but I have used 16/8 before and had about an 80% turnout of females. Good luck with your grow!!

Feminine seeds are when they take a strongly dominantly female plant and soak one or two of the nodes with gibberellic acid, this induces male flowers on a female plant but the pollen has only X chromosomes and no Y, thus when the plant is pollinated you only get female seeds. But don't confuse using male pods from a hermi plant will do the same thing, if the plant can produce male flowers without the need for the chemicals then those hermi traits will be passed on! Don't even try to make the female seeds yourself, getting the levels of gibberellic acid right is very hard and can lead to stem death if not exactly right. But I just started a grow with female seeds so I will post my results from them when they show sex in a few days.

Damn good explanation. I had only heard about the hermi method.
