Feeling uneducated. ph and ppm

Clearly my girls are having an issue. (Obviously my fault)

After reading a bit, quite a bit, my girls were doing great.

They were fed yesterday, (micro, grow, bloom), I had cut the suggested feeding in half, due to slight yellowing at the tips. Figured better to be under than over.

2 plants, soil medium, (got as a gift, soil may have been hot), tested soil today, ppm 50 and ph 7.3 (I did not test the runoff yesterday) they are on a brand new 18/6 schedule.

Today however I have noticed small browning. I don't want to lower the ph as a newbie without asking for some advice.

You may have even fixed it with the micro but the damage you are seeing is past and just now showing itself
Leaves don’t revert back
I used half the MGB this week, so there will be more of a deficiency ahead. I don't want to add another 1/2 and chance saturating them. :wall:

Really soil sucks fyi. I still veg in ffof cause I'm kinda lazy and it makes it so I do t have to water as much, but they always begin a little burnt. I started flowering in sunshine #4 and my plants look way healthier.

btw I had some left over #4 after flowering last time so I mixed it with some of the ffof and I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference in veg in the ones that got like 15% #4. will probably be testing more.

I see calcium and magnesium deficiencies.
I know it needs to be addressed asap, I was worried about over saturating them, but the mag deficiency lingering would be far worse. I can add the other half of the MGB, or just the Micro, and keep air flowing. Their 6 of the 18/6 doesn't start until midnight.

I would use all three! I meant to imply that your nutes may not be strong enough. Regarding optimal PPM, it increases as the plants progress from seedling, to early vegetative, to late vegetative, to bloom. 400 to 1000 PPM, 1300 PPM max. 600 to 750 PPM right now seems about right for your plants. For growing in potting mix 6.5 pH is fairly reasonable (hydro is 6.0). Good luck!

I was hoping for a little more info on your medium, but if you have an inert medium then plants those size can take 800 or above no problem. And you testing your soil and getting 50 ppm doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Forget about trying to read your medium's ppm, just focus on what you're putting in.

Sorry. It isn't inert, I got these 2 as a gift from a neighbor who I had helped with an outdoor grow when he got sick. I started not knowing much about them.at all, but I could definitely see the soil was ferilized, I only remember the yellow bags and can't remember the name of it. Yes, I know that isn't of much help. I just couldn't not take them in.

And the guy said they were auto at first, so my source of info about them is severely lacking. Next grow, from seed.

just like you said a non inert medium, FFOF or miracle grow vs sunshine #4 an inert medium.

I also agree with what they are saying about taking cuts. Bonus that if you do it now and they die you can just take more before they are really flowering. I've had a few sleeper strains that I had to grow 3 times before I realized I actually liked them.
