feeding and watering

I absolutely disagree & believe purposely underwatering is a misnomer. Do u like to feel overfull & bloated? How bout so hungry ur stomache hurts? why do u think plants r any different? they dont like underwatering or overwatering, just like you with ur food. u should be watering ur plants based on the water by weight method. simple, water ur plant until it drains through ur holes in ur container, then set it down. now pick it up again & make a mental note of how heavy it is. water again when the container/plant feels light, compared to that heavy just watered feeling. its okay to let the very top of ur soil get dry, but I would never be a proponent of letting the plant get really dry before watering. This is for people that just don't know how to water, without overwatering, & I guess they think better to underwater then overwater. EITHER way you are stressing the plant. Their is my opinion.

After the seed has been planted and the soil watered well, you don't need to water again for a few days.

The amount of water, and how often to water varies with the size of the pots and plants, and the amount of light.

When plants are small they transpire less, and don't require as frequent watering as when they are larger with more leaves.

When seedlings have just appeared above the ground, you should water very carefully to prevent the force of the water knocking them over.

Water provides the hydrogen necessary for plant growth and also carries the nutrients throughout the plant.

Cannabis plants prefer a regular watering cycle, but should preferably not be watered every day.

Although the theory that the more water a plant is given, the faster it will grow is incorrect, underwatering will slow plant growth.

Although the Cannabis plant loves lots of water, the most common cause of death in homegrown plants is from overwatering them.

A large pot that was saturated before germination may hold enough moisture for the first two to three weeks of growth.

Plant cells are kept rigid by water, and when there is not enough moisture left in the soil, the leaves start wilting and dropping off.

A very simple answer to this question is it's easier for a plant to recover from under watering than over watering. With under watering you'll see signs of stress (i.e. wilting and droopy leaves). Over watering can cause damage you won't see like root rot, algae, and fungi. This could kill your plants, no recovery. Under feeding will not kill your plants, to much nitrogen will. Overnight if bad enough. If you have a good soil you'll have enough nutrients to substane a healthy grow. You won't get a huge yielding monster plant, but you won't have a dead plant. My advice is to follow theexception's advice and get a feel for your plants weight after a good watering and use that as a guide. As far as feeding start with low doses until your plants adjust and slowly raise the doses. The golden rule to nutes is to feed every other watering. Hope these answers help.
