Hi, do these plants look OK? are they lacking anything? what could be done to improve them?

I have a feeling i am doing something not quite right, so tell me what it is so i can get the most from the crop!

They have just had the lights changed to 12/12, the big one is White Widow, the small one is Barneys Farm Blue Cheese, both from seed and in soil, using Canna Vega (veg stage) and Canna Flores (flower)

YOUR FEEDBACK IS MOST APPRECIATED!

Thanks.

Honestly they look under feed, there is much too much yellow for this time in their flower cycle. Plant structure looks fine though nice and bushy. I'd give them a little N to help green them up some, just because they are in flower doesn't mean they still don't need some N. I realize that many on here say NO NO NO on the N during flower but your plant is still alive and needs to be fed during its life.
Good Luck

Agree with the need for nitrogen comments. They look underfed. Healthy leaves breed healthy bud. Green 'em up with nitrogen. Take care.

Hi, during the first few weeks i think they were underfed, we were taking the cautious approach and not overdoing the fertiliser but the leaves started yellowing, they have been receiving full dosage for the last month and are looking much healthier now but there is still some yellowing.

Thanks for all your comments, the general consensus is they are lacking Nitrogen, this is what i thought but i wanted it to be confirmed, so....

How do i add more Nitrogen? i dont think the plants are lacking P or K so how do i add ONLY Nitrogen to the mix? on the back of the fertiliser packaging it says it contains ample Nitrogen so what do i do?

Since your bloom nute isnt fully doing it, You might go 3/4 strength with bloom, and 1/4 strength with veg.

OR maybe 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 with bloom.

Fish emulsion is supposed to be fast acting. Its usually 5-1-1.

Also... Ammonia Nitrogen acts faster than Urea Nitrogen. Urea has to be broken down and made available by microbes in the soil. If your fertilizer is higher in urea, that may explain why its not acting fast... OR if the microbes arent there.... that could be part of the problem.

A foliar spray might be in order too. For foliars you want to go 1/8th strength with the nutes, maybe even less. We are talking a few drops in your spray bottle. Theres a 50 page long thread somewhere about "the lost art of foliar feeding" that you might check out.

i don't know why people say no to N during flowering....mj uses a shitload of it, all through out it's life cycle. it's especially important during the 1st couple weeks of flowering to ensure the plant stays green during the stretch. less green, less stretch, less yield. i use a 5-5-9 mix all the way until i flush. keep em green. it keeps em happy.

humboldt nutrients has a 16-1-1 organic mix called verde that works pretty well.

Hi, thanks for the reply, they have only been watered with the bloom nutes once so i dont think it has had a chance to 'do it' yet.

I will also try and find out if the nutes contain urea or ammonia nitrogen.

And a foliar spray you say? is this spraying the plants with bloom nutes? at 1/8th strength? i will try and find the 'foliar feeding thread'

Thanks.

Here is the foliar feeding thread. >>>> https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/296685-lost-art-foliar-feeding.html <<<<

] We are talking a few drops in your 16 oz spray bottle. More likely, its just enough to simulate natural rain fall... because that is what its doing. [unless you go mad scientist.. with god only knows what] Just misting them with plain water will get some N in there... but not as much as dew or natural rain. Just turn the lights off, and the fans on high while you do it. {so you dont get standing water, or burn holes on leaves.}

Just be careful about doing it after 3 weeks of flower... or when you have good bud formation. It could lead to moldy buds.

NITROGEN! :) I Use Blue Miracle Grow And It Has Done Nothing But Good For Me! Its Very Good For Weed Just Remember To Flush The Nutrients About 1 1/2 - 2 Weeks Before Harvest By Watering With No Nutrients Unless You Want Bud That Tastes Like Chemicals! Hope I Helped! SMOKE A BOWL FOR ME :)
