Federal Decriminalization

If the FEDERAL GOV'T. stands down and gets back in it's Constitutional cage where it belongs , I believe a few states will legalize asap and the others will trickle in over the course of a few years. Pretty much the "reefer madness" shit only scares great grandmothers these days and they're kicking the bucket fast as well as their WWII husbands. There is a new generation of old people, it's baby boomers that smoke(d) alot of dope.
or at least had siblings or friends that did.

It will be hard for many states to resist the lure of "tax revenue". Once one fascist state starts controlling the legal selling of weed or licensing sales / taxing and the other states see the raking in of easy money they will follow. Imagine the boost in travel and tourism dollars to a local economy if weed were legal in a neighboring state but not yours....ROADTRIP! Reminds me of when some states had lower drinking ages than others and everyone would pile in a big old car and hit the border state to be able to drink in a bar. Memories...
Personally I kind of miss the old cigarette ads that used to be on TV, so I'm hoping some really good ads for weed come out. There are alot of funny possibilities. Oh wait the ads will probably be regulated.

The black market prices of weed will be related to the price of legal weed and likely will drop as they should when a competitive market exists. At least the black market won't be feeding the bureaucrats or paying taxes. Kind of ironic we have to wait for somebody else to decide if we will be criminals or not when we aren't harming anyone by burning a weed. But we are owned by the fuckers, so everybody let's all lick the boots of our representatives and beg for the freedom to own our bodies.

"H.R. 5843 is sponsored by Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank and co-sponsored by Texas Republican Ron Paul, among others. The bill carries a very reassuring title, too: Act to Remove Federal Penalties for Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults.

Over the past few years, numerous states have passed so-called "medical marijuana" laws, allowing doctors to prescribe pot to patients to treat a variety of symptoms. A total of 13 states have also passed measures decriminalizing marijuana. This new bill would expand that tolerance of the drug to include open recreational use.

Interviewed recently by Esquire about the new measure, Frank was asked why Congress is taking so long to take action that so many states have pursued. Here's his response:

"This is a case where there's cultural lag on the part of my colleagues. If you ask them privately, they don't think it's a terrible thing. But they're afraid of being portrayed as soft on drugs."
Another politician who has never been accused of being afraid to express his beliefs on legalizing pot is Paul, who gave a memorable interview on the subject a few months ago. Watch it here.

So, it's clear what Barney Frank and Ron Paul think about decriminalizing marijuana, but what's your take?"

Absolutely correct Rob Roy, We jail more than six times the people per capita than Europe or Australia. Jail has become a big business. I am sure they have lobbyists paying big money to make sure things don't change. Sickening when you think about it. The difference is from the victimless drug incarcerations.
