Faulty budmaster led.

Can't you use the seller warranty right now ? Why do you want to wait ? The product is faulty and can be hazardous (overheating), You shouldn't wait too much, send it back to the seller and fill a formal complain.
Peace.
That is a last resort. I'd rather have a replacement unit from budmaster. Rather than file a complaint with PayPal/eBay and hope they get me my money back. It's under warranty until December so I can't see why they won't replace it for me.

i have pulled down the led and put my mh up to prevent any more damage

I understand your point of view but if you open the panel and start testing every bits by yourself, isn't it a "warranty voids" (sorry i don't know how you say that in english). ? I think that can work against you at the end. The product do not work, send it back. I know it can be a pain in the ass, especially if you don not have a spare light source but at the end you are risking to lose a lot of money.

I hope you can get your money or a new panel back. Good luck bro.

Peace.

i don't think ebay will do much in way of replace or refund as the unit was working in your hands if you can prove it failed within 7 days you can get a refund only if you can prove it broken within 7 days of reciving item email the seller see if there willing to help in anyway explaine nicly you are on a budget thay might give you say 50% of a new one or something anything is better then nothing and thay would not wont negative feedback

@Thor_

Are you living in the UK ? I live in Belgium, i think everything that was sold in Europe have a mandatory 2 years warranty. Is it not the same for the UK ?

12 months unless stated on point of sale if you buy online you have 7 days to claim and 14 to replace or refund if faulty then after the time fame say 3 months later and it still under 12 months warrenty and you have proof to say it is then the manufator will rplace the item once thay deam it to be not your own doing this can take upto 28 days or even longer

I never leave feedback on ebay until I test properly the items if anything is wrong or its not as thay stated you are within your rights for a full refund once the seller has got the item back and its upto you to pay the postage cost aswell

Get a multimeter. You can check individual LEDs (using LED testing function). You can check your driver's output voltage. And you can test for shorts using the continuity test.

Probably a faulty driver or a burnt LED in the series.
12 months for the lower end units. It's a very expensive lesson to learn.
Could have been cheaper if you only had...:)

a little update. The middle cluster after being turned off suddenly started working. The two outer cluster are dead, one shows little signs of life if I touch the wire. Swapped clusters over and the clusters were faulty.

Budmaster are sending me out new clusters. So I think I have dodged a bullet here.

Maybe dodged for now. Should start setting funds back for a better replacement. Because given friends experiences with other cheaper brands, it will happen again.

Not cheap at £749 per 675 unit. But I think I know it's working as it should, I'm selling it.

Might see how hard it is to make my own.
