Fate of two plants

Hi RIU, I have two nice feminized seedlings planted 4 inches apart from each other in a 30-gallon pot. I wonder if there are going to be any complications that I should be concerned with in the future?

well you said their fem seeds so no worrys about male
also they should grow fine together unless one is tall and other short it would be hard to get your light close enough for both plants
if they are the same strain you shouldnt have any trouble

I wouldn't put two plants in the same pot but I'm a very new grower. I am sure more experienced will be along soon. Full grown pot plants can get fairly wide and 4" is very close together. That close together it's just like growing 1 plant. Why not get two 2 gallon (or much smaller pots), and use some of the material from the 30 gallon pot and give them their own quarters so you can see as they grow how this would work out? You can always pot them up to the 30 gallon anytime in the future.

if you have the chance id move them apart a little......the roots may choke each other out resulting in a small plant and a big plant. an old friend i used to know grew 6 per 35 gallon tote, but they were around 9 inches apart maybe more. worked well for him

definitely move them apart, if not into their own pots... 4 inches is way too close. In a week or two their roots would be all tangled up.

Leave them alone. That's tons (30 gal) of root space. 15 gal/plant when there's plenty of grows in 5 gal pots. Don't worry about roots getting "tangled up" that is the rule not the exception in nature. I'd just LST them in opposite directions, it should work great. Just my opinion.

I think you will be fine with the 4" spacing. Marijuana is similar to corn in it likes having close neighbors of its own kind. i would for sure LST them out and away from each other just so they all get adequate light though. happy growing!

The roots will find their own space, and they have lots of that.. It's the training that is going to complicate things. I would space them apart for that reason. Also, if they aren't too big, pop them out and replant them, they won't mind too much, just be nice to the roots, try to keep them as undisturbed as possible and keep them watered afterwards.

Thanks RIU, big help. I spaced them further apart. Feeling much better about their fate now. Don't have to worry about roots tangling, and maybe they'll be a little more bushier now when they get bigger. I'll have to see what I can do when the time comes to train them. Thanks again

They will do fine. But topping might not be the best practice. Instead, LST them to the sides. Fan them out, each plant having a side. Then SCROG it.

You just wasted some time for nothing. In the same container still? Guess what. And why is root entanglement an issue here?
