Fans/Heat/Grow Tent Help!

Hello guys,

So i am in the midst of beginning my first grow and wanted to grasp the idea of air intake.

My tent dimensions currently are 120x60x180 centimetres, although I'm thinking of purchasing a slightly bigger one at 120x120x200 to give more room for the fans. I have a 4" inline extractor fan pulling in air from the outside and will be purchasing a 4" or 6" RVK fan with filter to attach to my air cooled reflector which will house a 400W MH & 600W HPS. I was given some advice at my local hydroponic store and was told I should also think about installing another fan pulling the air back out of the tent, which I initially thought would be covered by my RVK, over my bulb and then out through the top. Would adding another extractor fan to suck the air out be highly recommended? or would I be just fine with my RVK to do the job? Also, do you think heat would become a problem in a tent of this size?

Thanks in advance for any advise

You have about the same size tent I do. I keep mine in a walk in closet with no windows, and one door. I'm running 2 125w cfl and 1 100w mh. What's been working for me, leave a bottom flap and top flap open. The natural rising of hot air flows out of the top while drawing fresh air in from below. During the day my closet door stays open, when the lights go out I close the door.
So you could do something similar, just have an intake vent on the bottom with the exhaust fan blowing out the top creating that air flow. That should create a good air flow to keep things cool. (you'll know more about your setup then I will and if this idea is going to be plausible for you)
Gotta love science.

Thanks bro, yeah if I had a closet I think I'd be more prone to putting my setup inside, but I have my tent in the corner of my room. Your sound like you got yours worked out. good luck with everything :peace:
