Fans and light leaks, cause for concern?

As a continuation of my n00bish series of n00bish questions here's another: are my intake fans going to be sources of light leakage, and if so, what is the best way to keep the air flowing without the light hitching a ride?

I'm less worried about the out-take, as that's going through ducting and a carbon filter/fan combo which I imagine stops any light from entering the tent. But doesn't the intake fan just kinda sit at the bottom, making it prone to letting in ambient light from the room the tent is in (in my case, a garage)?

Thanks! As always, any advice is very appreciated!

That approach makes sense. It does seem to allow more forgiveness for light hitting the plant during flowering dark cycles than I see most folks talk about. I'm reading cautions against the red indicator light on a surge protector. I guess spectrum and the sustained nature of an indicator light versus the waxing and warning Luna have to be considered too.

Thanks topfuel.
