Fan use during lights off

Right now I'm in 12/12 and running an exhaust fan (w/o filter) and a tall ocilating fan on low setting.

I use the ocilating fan to cool the hps bulb during the day and to recreate a natural breeze but do I need that at night.

I understand the ocilating fan inside the tent will help prevent mold but I also heard that they need rest from movement. The exaust is better at preventing mold I heard anyway.

If I keep the exaust fan on during lights out the plants can have rest and it can prevent mold and mildew with the passive intake ports at the bottom but I would like to hear updated opinions.

Sigh... I have so much foliage in the 3x3 with 3 moms its crowded. For this run I guess I have to keep the exaust going 24/7 to prevent mold and turn the ocilating fan off at night so they can rest.

When I have less plants in the 3x3 I guess my only option is to turn the exaust off during the day if I'm not using the filter. And the ocilating fan off at night so they can have a rest.

My personal grow is crowded, but it has a passive intake fan at the bottom. Then I have small Usb fans that oscillate withing the tent to create the natural breeze.I have read some where that the plants do need a break from it, so I just have a timer that turns them off every 6 hours for about 1-1.5 hrs during the night period. However during the lights on i keep the fans going (I also use HPS).
Hope this helps.

to you both: no where in nature is the air totally still

indeed as weed is a carbon3(C3) plant you only need the fans on when lights on = true

but its a good idea to have a slight gently breeze.. usb and avg. extract is good

mold spores will settle and tear into the plants surface tissue this time of year

I too use small pc type fans on a diy stand with great results for night ops

passive intake fan is nothing but a small hole

its an inlet and passive not actaully a fan ...lol

good luck

In that case I'll keep my fan on the sleep setting which is a gentle breeze. The USB fans are a good idea. Do I still need my exaust fan even if I'm not using the filter?

Why is your passive intake so small.

Your plants must love that. Sounds like a lot of timers but worth it.

I run both my inline and outlet all the time ,you want fresh air been brought in the room and then taken out via exaust replaced again with fresh ,or your grow room will have stagnant air in it ,in nature the wind does not stop at night ,Summer I have my wall fans on too ,to keep the temps lower ,if the room becomes warm during lights of it causes the plants to strectch.Winter I set my wall fans with the light timer of it gets too cold this can stump growth.I don't know about your plants ,but mine stink ,the other reason I have to use the exaust fan 24/7.

Good luck tyke.

I do know of one that would almost vomit ..(gag???) at each days opening

I'm not that bad ....lol

I run out and in fans 24/7 as well as my oscilating fan inside the tent. I'd rather supply them with fresh air moved around over the plants constantly than have stagnant air built up in my tent.
