Fan speed controller - different speeds day/night?

I need preferably cheap and simple ideas to run an inline fan on hi speed during lights on and low speed during lights off. I was trying to think of a way to use two timers or fan speed controllers... but I'm not seeing how I could make it work.

Temperature sensored fan speed controller.


Set idle speed to around 25-50%.

Set temp at 24C/75F.


The controller will maintain a speed anywhere from your set idle speed to max dependant upon temperature.

During dark times the fan speed controller will either go on to idle speed or anywhere between idle and max to try and keep temp at set level.


That's your speed up during lights on and slow down during lights off.

Theres VSC-DNE Day/Night fan speed controller from amazon - I have no expireance with this company, ive been looking for a temp controller myself. Hope this helps.

Temp controller is my favorite thing in my whole grow room setup. They are the key to proper humidity and temp control.

Temp controller won't work.. I have a veg light in the same room that will keep the temps up. I just need it to run at about 90% lights on and 50% lights off.

Oh and just fyi, it is for my flower tent to have continuous carbon filter scrubbing and humidity removal during lights off since there is no need to run the fan full blast.

I bought one of these controllers after my new 8" fan sucked all of my centrally air conditioned air out of my house faster than it could be replaced.
Best bit of kit I have bought so far, this is what you want for sure. The idle setting is high enough to maintain negative pressure in the room when lights are off.
Set it and forget it type controller.

Overpriced for what it is I think but still worth the money to me.

I think this is the Canadian Manufacturer made under license from an american company that I cannot recall the name of.

You can't hook up two dimmers to one fan. You do need some of the 'high tech' crap to accomplish your goal, in this case.

One option is to just have the fan only kick on for a minutes every hour, at full speed, during your lights off time.
