Fan Question

i bought the 4 inch duct booster. its good for pushing extra air through a long duct, but should not be used as a main exhaust fan. just not enough juice. especially in a place where heat is a big issue. aloha

if heat isnt a problem and all you need is air circulation, id say that would be sufficient if the area isnt too big. have you found one of those charts saying how much air for your size grow area? if you dont, i think i have one. just p.m. me and ill try to dig it out. aloha!

well my cabinet isnt that big 18 cubic feet (first time ive used geometry formulas since high school lol) so im thinkin itll be sufficient as the fans im usin now cant be much more than 50cfm

that should be fine. the rule of thumb is your fan should move toal volume of air in the room in less than 5 minutes. are you moving air just for circulation or for heat also?

well ima be adding a few more cfls like 1 to each of my current ballasts and 2 46w ones with 2 smaller ballasts for flowering so im thinkin ima have 2 of those boosters runnin as intake and exhaust and one of the ones that i have now will stay either intake or exhaust and then use the other inside the cab and maybe pick up like another clip fan or sumthin i think it will be sufficient

List all your light your running in the cab. YOu don't need an intake fan. Just a good exhaust fan. If the one exhaust fan is powerful enough you can create an negative preasure inside the cab. Also a powerful exhaust fan will just pull in fresh air.

I bought a fan / scrubber combo from them as well as my HPS light...

I ended up with a 190 CFM 4" w/ carbon scrubber. I bought a fan speed control unit and she's running at half speed during veg w/o the carbon filter I recently put the carbon filter on and just moved it up to 3/4 speed but I only noticed a 1 degree rise in temps before adjusting fan speed to account for the added restriction now on the fan because of the filter.

3 grow tubes? Are those just regular fluorcent fixtures? I don't want to tell you to get a big ass fan for just those bulbs. People claim that CFLs and other fluorecents don't put off that much heat, which is true. Yet in my case when I didn't have an ac specifically for my grow and I was using cfls I had real heat issues in closed off spaces. I guess It all depends on your temps right now with all those lights and no fan. Maybe try there 6in I got one just recently.

i have 2 fans right now and u can see my setup in my sig only running 6 26w right now as they are still babies the grow tubes are 24 in flourescents from lowes but they dont put off much heat

you want to run a little more air running out your exhaust than coming in the intake to create a little negative pressure. did that make sense to you?

yes it did what i think ima do is get 2 of those and put one intake one exhaust and keep my current exhaut fan as well and then i have 2 get some kind of oscillating one for inside, but i found one for like 10 on clearence at target

i just cant see spending 100$ on a fan scrubber combo, i dont really need the scrubber and those fans make more noise so if these do the job for my cab 2-for $40 is kinda unbeatable

Lets say i have a fan pushing air threw 4in aluminum duct into a carbon filter can i place this whole piece in closet to get rid of odor?
