I need help I am about 2 1/2 weeks into flower under 250w hps about 20in away from top of plant. She started to twist after I wtitched to the 250w. I am just trying to figure out why they are twisting. Also I would post pictures og my plant but I cant figure out how upload them from my computer to my rollitup.

Twisting or folding?

Twisting in a circle can be a sign of stress or the dreaded tobacco mosaic virus ( usually accompanied by yellow interveinal banding on one side of the leaf.

Folding up ( like they leaves are trying to close) means lights to close Probably not your deal with a 250 that far away (you should shoot for 12-16" BTW

Twisting down (aka rams horn) usually means too much nutrients although some plants just like to rams horn

That is the dreaded claw.

It can be from too much nitrogen or from too hot and dry conditions that cause excellerator transpiration I have a mother in flower right now and the top is all clawed She is just in a tent with no climate control and a bare bulb 1k HPS and 400mh flanking her

She has been showing me the claw for fucking ever Finally figured it out the exhaust fan is right near the top of the plant..too much air movement combined with kind of hot and dry conditions...claw

Not too worried about it.

OK thank you legallyflying but some pictures I have found online for zinc defishency looks almost just like my plant so I have been a little worried about it. If you could tell me how to attach pictures to my rollitup account from my computer i can send you a few pictures of everything and maybe you can have a better idea. Thank you for your help

tobacco mosaic virus is very rare in canabis plants,,its not that.twisting is either caused by fans being too close or chlorine in the water you give to your plants.
lower your light to 10-12 inches.

TMV is not as rare as you think it is. I had waht I thought waas TMV and posted pics.. I got all kinds of responses from yeah to "cannabis is not affected by TMV". Most people thought TMV was bullshit. Well I sent a couple leaves to a friend at the botany lab at the U.

His reponse.. after like 3 f'in weeks... hey dude, get your bleach bottle out, you have TMV.

He didn't post pictures but I can absolutely identify it when it happens. I have never seen interveinal chlorosis on one side of the leave for anything other than TMV.

I've got that shit in one of my sativas but I did it myself. I went to flowering 12/12 and hit it up with too much bloom, only 400-500 ppms but it twisted like Chubby Checker. All my other (1 slh and a thc bomb) didn't twist at all. I've never seen twisting before so I was kinda shocked. I've just started some other plants to replace the twister since I had another go full hermy due to sensitive fem gear.

That doesn't say much dude. and yes, I know the 50 page thread on ICMAG they are referring to. I'm telling you I thought I had it and I sent it to a lab to get tested, at one of the best agriculture universities in the country actually (where I got my degree) and the test came back positive.

And you tell me it was bugs.... Amazing. Simply fucking amazing.

That is classic nute burn right there. That, and classic poor camera skills.

See how the tips of the leaves get really skinny at the end and the tips are yellow and brown (the techincal term is necrotic). That is a classic sign of over fertilization. I don't see any signs of leaf curling that are too bad.

You may be a little high on the nitrogen side.. as I stated earlier, that can cause the claw.

I would give them a nice flush. I'm not captain soil guy by any means but I believe the recommned flush is about 4 times the volume of your container... someone can confirm that for me.

If you have a PPM pen... which you should... measure the PPM of the run off and post it up.

But at least now you know, you overfed them. It happens sooooo much. In the future, cut the nutrient additions by a 1/3 or so. or even a half. It is ALWAYS better, always always always, to under feed a plant and then bump it up when you see a deficiency, than to overfeed them. This is ESPECIALLY important for those that don't have tight climate controls and things can get hot and dry and the plants need to transpire allot.

What if you were standing out in the blazzing sun all day, sweating your balls off and then a guy comes over and hands you a tall glass of salt water..... your tips would burn too. :)
