I don't know what causes it... I've heard all different kinds of stress can do it. I've had it happen a couple of times to clones that went into smallish pots and had to wait quite a while, sort of slow-vegging (not the greatest light, small pots) until I needed them. Once when I threw one of those freaks in with some healthier plants to flower, the result was miserable - not even worth the space it took up. Another time, I re-potted the mutant into a bigger pot, gave it some better light (still vegging), and it went back to normal. It did take it a while to get back to normal though (but, it did turn into a good, healthy plant).

I guess that info probably doesn't help a whole lot. Probably about all you can take from my post is that you ought to get them back to normal before trying to flower. At least that's my experience.

Hopefully someone else will have more info. I'd be interested in knowing more about it myself.

same problem i had root bound was my problem just transplant and cut off those leaves worked for me if your in hydro i dont know what the problem would be ...hope this helps

thanks for the info. i will post a pic as soon as i get a good cam. the cam i have the pics come out with lines. guess the 1000 hps is too strong. some of the new growth have 5 fingered leaves. i really dont know what happened. every one had a different opinion. i heard that maybe the clones came from a mom who was turned & then put to veg again. idk. hopefully it goes away before i turn them

I have 3 plants that r about 3 ft tall that went from 5 fingers to3 to 1... Now they r 3 weeks into budding and still 1. I think it has to do with th nutes I gave them early in the veg stage. Still have nice nuggs. I'll put pics up asap

I've had that happen a few times - and yes some of the times it was in a pot too small and being watered very often just to keep it alive.

thanks. make sense to wait & see. i have one more week in veg & i see new growth with 5 fingers. hopefully a few come out before i turn them. i dont know what would stress them that way. i'm doing hydro in rockwool 4X4 cubes ontop of a rockwool slab.

I'm having the same problem- But I don't have it in a small container, she is in a 5 gallon and has plenty of room- Did this situation remedy itself for you?

I get the same thing with my Pineapple, allways have with this strain, but a friend of mine thinks the 3 blades come from skunk #1 hybrids. I know that when you clone from a plant already in flower the first couple set's will be single blade's, but once the new growth start's it goes. it is something that i think about but all the end results have been good, so i dont let it bother me too much.

So im Growing 2 different types of Kush. An American Kush and a Blueberry Kush. Both have the single finger leaves . Is this common with the Kush strain? My White Elephant and La Conf dont have the single finger leaves.

I've had the same issue. No big deal. They did fine.
I have to admit that generally when this has happened to my girls.. its due to stress of sorts. Moisture stress and spider mites... treatment of spider mites. Made sure all were back to what I felt were healthy plants before flowering. All turned out fine.
