Fan leaf tips curling upwards & browning?

Hi everyone, just need to know why my leaf tips are curling up and browning at the top of the plant. Is it too much nutrients or is it because those leaves aren't getting enough water or is it the led light too close? Theres a few fan leaves that are browning at the tips with no curling at the bottom of the plant as well as at the top. Should I be watering even more? I water almost everyday unless the Coco is still really wet then I wait till the next day. Also any ideas on how I can make more room at the top of my tent? The ventilation kit is very much in the way of being able to heighten the light, mainly the bulky charcoal filter. Should I change the set up from having both the filter & inline fan inside the tent to having the filter outside and fan inside? I know it can be less effective that way but it might be worth doing? I have an oscillating fan inside the tent too for added ventilation. If anyone can help out that would be much appreciated (:

Also zooming in, did you check for gnats? Do you see little flies flying around, just a thought from looking at a few of the leaves with the spots on them. May not be could be a slight Cal/Mag deficiency but I was just curious.

Thanks very much. Ah yeah nute burn makes sense because I did just switch to adding flowering nutes and am still adjusting to get the mix right since I can't afford to get an EC meter just yet. I give them bio deisel cal mag because when they were little they had a bit of magnesium deficiency but that fixed up pretty quick so I just give it to them once a week usually but this week I did it twice because they grew so much in a short space of time but only 1ml per 5 litres, possibly what caused the nute burn on top of the professor's flower boost with the professor's original A&B. I know how to move the filter outside of the tent but how do I move the filter outside? The only way I know of is to have the fan inside then ducting from the fan to the filter sitting outside the tent. How do I set it up so both are outside? That would be preferable if I could do both outside that's for sure, how do I secure the fan outside of the tent? Do I have to screw it into the wall or something? It does have a flat plate to screw it into a wall, is that how that would be done? Thanks very much for your help

Oh and I forgot to mention about the gnats, I did actually check for gnats but I couldn't find any. The black bits that you see zooming in are bits of stray Coco I think, I had to add some more recently as some of the roots of the plants had grown out of the Coco for some reason so I just covered them back up with more Coco. However I did notice a couple of tiny holes in some of the leaves, have no idea what that is caused by.

I meant I know how to have the filter outside of the tent but not how to have the fan outside

the fan should have a mounting base on it but if not you can sit it on something. for one of my tents I have the filter inside the tent with ducting out one of the duct holes to the fan which sits on top of the tent.
You could put the filter on the output side of your fan, sit the fan on top of the tent (if you don't have a way to mount or something else next to the tent to put it on and run ducting from the duct hole in the tent to the fan.

this way the fan will pull air from the tent and send it through the filter

did you recently increase the light intensity? The plants could just be acclimating to it

I did raise it as much as I could but my filter and fan are big so it's preventing me from raising it any further. The ventilation kit is taking up a good 30cm. I want to put the fan and filter outside the tent so I can use that space to have the light higher but I'm not 100% sure how to go about it yet. Thanks very much for your input

Gday. Yes the fan does have a mounting base on it, it's a flat one that you can screw into the wall but your idea of having it on top of the tent might work better, that's a great idea thanks for that. Because I have 3 dogs & a cat I was thinking having it next to the tent might not be a good idea. I haven't increased the light intensity but the plants have gotten quite a bit taller in a short space of time which has made them heaps closer to the light, I did heighten the light as much as I could but the ventilation kit is just taking up way too much space in the top of the tent so that's why I was wondering about having it outside. I did read up online about doing it but they didn't really say in detail about how to go about it so thankyou for your input, much appreciated cheers

Get some flexible vent hose and a clamp or 2. Move filter and fan outside of tent. Flip fan over and add vent hose to tent highest air outlet. Suck air from tent to inside of filter and out. Good idea to add a filter to tent input and filter input. Filters can be whatever you want..

By the way your plants from the pics. Look ok. A little light stress and hungry imho.

Oh Oh ok so you're not venting it outside through a wall etc, thats what I thought. Ok so in that case its real easy you could set it on the floor outside of the tent, if you're worried about cats and dogs just put a small piece of screen around the fan opening so no one loses a snout. You could also just find a stud in the wall next to it and screw the fan in the wall and do it that way, buuutttt...

If you dont want to set it on the floor or put it in the wall then grab a piece of thick cardboard or a couple of boxes the size of your grow tent (4x4?)and set them on top of your grow tent. If the tent can hold the filter and fan hanging from the inside then I dont see why it would hold the same weight on top. But make sure you put some heavy cardboard down first so the weight is distributed more evenly and so nothing rips on the actual tent. Let me know what you end up doing.

Thats good advice, i used to screw on my fan on a 2x4 an let it rest on top of the tent.
Now i just open up the top vent hole and let it rest on top, just try and keep it leveled..
Never had any tent rip yet..

Sorry late reply I've been a bit sick lately. Last night I put the fan and filter on the outside like you said with the hose through the top hole of the tent with the fan and filter on a plank of wood. I actually think I'm getting better suction now somehow and there's more room in the tent now so I've been able to make the light as high as I can which is good because the top of the plants were getting burnt. I have a new problem now though which is powdery mildew, I have sprayed them with neem oil and removed the most affected leaves. They are in early flower so I hope I can save them, any advice on what to do? I'm getting a small dehumidifier tomorrow to keep the humidity down, it's been quite high because it's humid here at the moment and the fans just weren't able to keep up. Thanks :)

Gday, sorry for late reply I got sick. I was able to do exactly what you said, thank goodness too because my plants were getting burnt up. I put the fan and filter on a plank of wood and put the pipe through the top hole of the tent. Its working very well thankyou. I've zip tied the light to the pole to get it as high as possible, wish I could get a bigger tent. I have a new problem that I noticed yesterday, I believe I have powdery mildew now :wall: I removed the worst affected leaves and have sprayed the whole plant with neem oil which is what I had on hand but I'm worried as their in early flower and it will ruin everything if I can't get it under control, I'm getting a dehumidifier to put inside the tent tomorrow. I'm sure they got it due to the high humidity, it's humid here at the moment so it's difficult to get it under control. Any advice on what to do? Thanks very much
