i am starting a large cabinet grow and i need to find a couple fans. do you guys think 8" duct fans will do the trick?
well i needed one for the intake and one for exhaust. im just looking to keep a steady temperature in my space.I'm no expert, but I'll bump this up and give you my input. The CFM on a fan means more than the size. When I went and bought mine the 8" fan moved about 180 CFM, the 6" was 280 CFM. It would also depend on what you are using it for. Is it for exhaust, filtration, light cooling, or maybe intake? Just my opinion.
yes smell is deffinitly a factor. i was planning on using carbon filter on exhaust fan. i also have a little office fan for the inside to cool my lights. i was planning on just using cfl lights but that is not carved in stone.Do you need to worry about smell? The way I've read it's best to do it is, to have a fan for exhaust/filtration and a fan to cool your lights. It is best to have a passive intake. Depends on how big your cabinet is and your light how big is that?
i knew that, not to be rude. but my question is what is the best fan to use for the intake/exhaust?Honestly you will need an intake fan, exhaust fan and one to cool your light if u r using hid.
