Fan dimmer ( speed control)

hey guys,, i have a 8" fan that pushes something like 700cfm for a 1800w room of 5x4x7 ,, it's a little overkill I think,, anyways. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to change speed on the fan , do I have to buy a dimmer or can this be done cheaper? Thanks,,
Oh and how do carbon filters react to lower speed ?

Buy the speed controller, they are cheap & worth it. I've got one controller hooked up to 2 fans & it is whisper quiet while moving plenty of air to maintain proper temp.

Lots of people buy speed controlers and never use them, they usually just run wide open. Just a heads up. And the carbon filter would work fine still.

It's a small room with 1800 watts in it. May not be overkill. I use 650 in a 3x5x7
