whenever i water my 2 1/2 week old plants, 2 of them droop over when the water hits them. is this a sign that i have a week stem? if so how can i improve it?:-|

If they are indoor you need to have a small fan moving the air around them so they " flutter " .. this strengthens the stems and builds them up similiar to the muscles in your body.. Also if if your lighting isnt strong enough it will cause the plants to "stretch" and become flimsy/weak. If neither of those are the problem then there are other feeding related problems that can reduce plant vigor .. but im sure its not the complicated.. my guess is you have no air movement or not enough light .. hope this helps

that just means your dirt isnt packed hard enough and the water is simply tipping them over as the dirt settles...take three fingers around the base of the stem and push down before watering and then after watering each time for the first couple weeks you may need to add some extra dirt to the top as it packs down....unless you mean they actually bend over above ground not just fall over...also ya a fan will strengthen them up..just keep straightening them up and it will eventually stop happening

yea, sounds like you've got some tall skinny plants, probably not receiving enough light and stretching up to much. More wattage will help with stretching. An oscillating fan will help with the thickness of the stem. You can rebury the stem with more soil, right up to the first set of leaves if needed. There is also a thing called dampening off, and it will effect young seedlings, eating away at the base of the stem making it very weak, When any of my seedlings get dampened off I will just scrap that particular seedling.
