My dad and grandfather brought me to a bunch of races here back in the 80's

That was an Indy car race. I ran a Pro Super Vee in a supporting race for Hank Chapman. Low budget independent team think our bar bill was bigger than our tire bill. But we finished in top ten.Fun to watch.

I worked with the organizers we had tried to get Central Park or Flushing Meadow area but we got the flat parking lot at the Meadowlands

Well it is the second weekend that F1 is having a race. There appears to be no interest from the RIU community.
That is understandable formula racing is a niche and will appear boring at most times often like a fast funeral procession.
As a comment from road circuit racer you don't want to speed your life going around in circles.........
