Fuck 300 bones- this cost less than 35 bucks USD.

i bought this stuff
2x sterilite plastic bins from 99 Cent Store- 1.98
3x assorted 1/2 inch pvc with threaded ends (8",6", 4")- 5.00
2x threaded endcaps- 1.50
1x 1/2 "T" fitting - 0.95
6x neoprene pucks for EZ Clone- 3.00
6x 360 nozzles for EZ Clone - 3.90
*1x powerhead pump (leftover res pump) -15.00 (when i bought it)
31.33
02.43+ tax
-----
33.76 total

so here we go.

2x plastic tupperware from 99 cents store

cut the tops of the lids out

cut 1 3/4 inch holes in the "top" of one container
IMG_0279.jpg

cut a notch for power cord in bottom container and it's lid
IMG_0284.jpg

silicone the lids together
IMG_0285.jpg

1/2 inch piping from home depot- sorry, i cut and drilled it before i took pics. 1x 4" and 1x 8" half inch tubing. 1x 1/2" "T" fitting, and 2x endcaps.
IMG_0291.jpg

Drill 11/62" (IIRC) holes for "360 Sprayers" from EZ Cloner, screw em in all the way. i used a drill press at homey's house.
IMG_0292.jpg

maxi Jet 400 powerhead- the workhorse of the aquarium universe- too broke for a Tunze =P
IMG_0299.jpg

Teflon taped the output to make it fit more snugly into the 1/2 inch pvc- couldnt find any smaller pvc pipe to fit it
IMG_0300.jpg

Silicone them shits- woulda used something more permanent (pvc glue) but i wasn't sure if it would work yet.
IMG_0301.jpg

Sprayed it over for light blockage. this stuff is specially designed to bond to plastic, we'll see how it ends up
IMG_0307.jpg

Add the ez cloner plugs, and plug this bitch in!
IMG_0289.jpg

I could have bought sprayers from home depot, and pipe insulation instead of pucks as well, but the ez clone parts are cheap from my local ez clone retailer (prolly cost) so i nabbed em there.

This effectively wets the bottoms of every puck with a good spray. It's started it's testing already, but i don't post pics of that stuff. once i get something more "family oriented" to root, i will add pics of that here too.

nice job! I basically did the same thing with a 5 gal bucket. (5 plants I think)
Thanks! it's been a lot of fun! very satisfying.

Did you drop an airstone at the bottom of the bucket? I thought about making a slightly larger version with a stone for dwc. maybe just one or two holes for net pots. would be kinda neat to clone and grow in 1 box like that. that particular pump was a limiting factor, as i needed to keep the rise as shallow as possible to maintain some decent pressure.

On a side note- those pumps have an interesting feature. they come with a tube and a venturi valve for aerating the water in the fishy tank. i may attempt a similar setup with a larger power head to see if that feature is feasible. With this small of a pump, i think i would lose too much pressure trying to use the valve.

any bucket of water I have standing has an airstone in it.
I actually built the thing and never used it. Vita grow and Rapidrooters are working 100% for me.

Update: So far my sealant has been holding. haven't woke up to any puddles. the paint i used seems to be doing a decent job, but i would highly recommend starting with a more opaque plastic tub- this would open up more color possibilities. the blue rubbermaid ones look promising. i would also recommend a plastic primer if u have any about- i haven't noticed flaking yet, but it's prolly a matter of time.

i let it warm up in the window to about 95F over a two day period and noticed no slime or funk in the res. I did cycle about an ounce worth of ISO in a full res of tap water before i put it to work.
No dead or droopy clippings either. I scrapped the original set of clippings and replaced em with better gens. that was yesterday. once i get some fingers ill post a pic.

How low are sprayers below the 45 degree angle on the cuttings .... And also does the spray have to hit the bottom of the cuttings. if you could answer this asap would be great cheers

near the bottom of the box if you look at the pics, i dont think that matters to much as long as the spray hits the bottom of the stems
