I only count dry weight as buds that have been trimmed & cured.. The average weight of the plants last run was 19-21 ounces. I log everything after its been trimmed and binned for curing. Off 6 plants I got 5.75 LBS of dry trim......

That’s alright for a new grower I guess.

Idk enough about the subject to dispute it with you, i expect less foliage = less growth not more.

I'm not saying that's correct but it stands to reason that less surface area making energy will slow growth?

I've got my hands full atm but I intend to do a sbs for myself, my limited experience with it suggests that it slows height/stretch after flipping hence trying it to slow growth.

It seems to me that it spends more energy growing the leaves back than stretching out the plant.

There a lot of things that seem binary, that are not. Not every leaf is equal in its photosynthestic ability not ever leaf is needed... I strip every plant in vegetative growth each week, I notice that the growth is better then when I don't.

What do I know i only have 600 plants to work with...

The single plant below was 2 weeks out of the clone dome...and not even in perfect health and still good size and good amount of structure already built up. .

I can't agree with extreme Defoliation, but thinning the plants out, removing all the thin stretched shoots, you only want one main shoot every 6-12".
If you the rootmass is feeding 100 shoots( 2ftx2ft plant) there not going to grow large, they have not got the room or water/food and most the canopy will be stems not buds, if you grow 8 main shoots in a 2ft x 2ft, give them lots of space the shoots can grow 4" thick
Each shoot is receiving 10x more water, food, light and has the space to grow.

Removing a few fan leaves in flower can really help if the canopy is too think, fan leaves need space, light and airflow to prevent mold.
