extracting heat

run your shit at night, my rooms sealed and with my HPs and LEDs going I'm only hitting 70-75" no ac
I live out in the desert so even running at night isn't enough with just ventilation unless it's winter. :p

When it's winter it gets so cold at night I can probably just hook up an inline fan to my temperature controller and be good, but during the rest of the year A/C is pretty much mandatory and my room is very well insulated too.

It really all depends on where you live though. Some people can use just ventilation, some people can run smaller air conditioners with vented lights, but then you have people like me that decided it was a good idea to live in the desert so A/C is pretty much our only option :P

But with 3600 watts in reflectors, I don't see how you could set up ventilation that can handle that. You can remove the heat from the lights, but if you're in a tent and your ambient temps are over 85 things will be difficult. Even with ventilation, it's always nice to have air conditioning when you have days in the year where ventilation isn't enough. I feel that unless OPs ambient temps never get above 80 degrees then air conditioning is pretty much necessary.

this is the most powerfull fan I can find it says 4250 m3 and is 12'' , would this pull hot air out fast enough or do you know any better powerfull ones ? I calculated my area at 10500m3 . it is roughly 5m x5m x 7ft then I multiplied that by 60 , is that correct ?
An oversized fan will pull the air through so fast is never has a time to cool the room.

Can you pull air from under your house? And exhaust out the top?

exchange room air every 3 minutes. So don't multiply by 60, multiply by 20,
But what you have done is multiply 5m x 5m x 7m and your room is 7ft height not 7m height.
7ft is 2.13m so 53.25m3 multiplied by 20 to get total exchange every 3 minutes
= 1065m3h add 20% for Filter and more for long lengths of ductwork. Buy Big and use a speed controller (variac)

I used to run 3 cooltubes with 600s in a 4x8ft tent, peak summer temps were 84f for a few hours with an 8" isomax fan on middle speed.
Get that big fan and a speed controller and run your lights without hoods and have plenty of air moving around, as long as your not somewhere supper hot, which I think your not from memory you should easy nail it. Worst case you have to get air cooled hoods.

with 6x 600w hps you can cover 12x8 ft maybe a bit more due to overlap.

hi i have decided to change my grow space, i have put pics in a new thread a minuet ago with the 2500m3 10 inch box fan , the 2 intake fans and the hps x 6 i will be using , i used 3 x600 hps and 2 600 w leds in the same room with ten pots . i had only small fans then and i yeilded 36 ounes off ten pots , that was my first grow this is my second . i do belive now i have double the hps it will get very hot , the temps around here are normally arounf 15/17oc at night for lights on time . ac is too expensive for me i hope the box fan removes alot of heat but my 2 intakes are kind of small . my room is 11ft x 11ft and 7.5 in height i will have 16 x 20L pots under 6 x 600w hps and 2 leds which let off very little heat

Just be aware that if your intake fans don't match how much air your extracting then you will restrict the extraction. You will get negative pressure obviously but the extractor will only be able to take out what is been put in. Unless of course you have some passive intakes on top of your intakes. Doesn't matter if your a bit off but you don't want your intake at half of the out take.

To be honest I think you will be fine heat wise with your extractor. If not then revert back to your other grow space, Your fan is still good for the bigger space you were talking about as far as exchanging air, a big room heats up slower than a little one.

Post a link @Dylanfurlong to your new thread.
