extract consistency fail, help?

Here is the sticky situation. The picturewith the green silicon is right after the blast. Really brown and nasty initially. I used a semi ripped micron filter. Next time I will use an unbleached coffee filter instead. The top is winterized and drying (hopefully). Middle is after a a solid day at 100 on a hot water bath. Thanks in advance I know I'm a little new to this and using very basic equipment.

I know all the basics and have a beginners set up I understand I need a vac purge and have plans to aquire oneone but for now I hot water bath until the butane is almost gone and then use a vac u saver hand pump(ghetto I know) to help remove more tane. I keep temps low under 110. Ran 2 pounds and ended up with a pile of sludge. The trim was mostly popcorn and high quality Colorado indoor. It was also extremely fresh and I used way too much butane. Would any of those account for why I cannot get it to change to oil for the life of me? I winterized at least 20gs in an attempt to get shatter and although it cleaned out a bunch of nasty shit it still remains a dark very stick and hard to manage oil. It was never burned or put above 135°f. I know it is not my method I ran some other really dry popcorn last night and got beautiful amber shatter. Could the trim be too fresh or just a bad batch? Half of it is amazing smelling popcorn much better than the nug I got to turn to shatter. I'm confused and would appreciate any of input greatly. Also would a vac purger be able to salvage this brown mess?

Well first off I see two problems right from the gate besides the fact that theres no vac purge. You should not blast into silicone dishes at all. And your middle pictite looks like its in a plastic tupperware also absolutely not good.

good in good out.... the problem seems to be in your material or technique you said you used a mesh screen, what was the micron rating of that? not sure how you can use too much butane, I mean at some point your not pulling anymore good stuff but it isn't the reason the oil looks like.... that.....

Its silicone as mentioned before not plastic and it is blasted into a pyrex and then transferred so it is easier to work with

Im quite sure it is not the tek as I have recently tried on two different kinds and gotten amazing results. I believe the problem lies in the product. Not sure what the screen is but I am switching to coffee filters. No matter what I do it comes out oily and brown....could the weed have been sprayed?

wait you did this on 2 other strains and it came out great, define great for us.... and yes the plants can be sprayed usually with neem oil but that makes it alot darker.

how old is the material

The trim was from plants cut this month. Great like clear amber shatter and golden butter when whipped. Those strains were from another grower entirely and although the trim from him seemed far inferior it turned out amazing. It was also bone dry where the stuff thay came out as oil is extremely fresh.

I would say not more than 2-3 weeks. It is still semi squishy and is currently being dried out for another go when its bone dry.

Bake it at 200 or up to 220 in 20-30 minute intervals of heating and cooling. I'd do two times before attempting to scrape it. If there's a warm setting that's best unless you want it to decarb for edibles. Bake it dry. Works with the worst hashes and at worst you know to throw it away if it doesn't dry out.

Its got to be a solvent though which is likely carcinogenic if its a hydrocarbon like butane or naphtha. What'd you use?

I have been blasting BHO for almost 5 years! Without a vac oven and quality BUD, say goodbye to quality. Unless someone has a method they would like to talk about. I used to use the "ghetto" hand vac mason jar with GREAT results.

i use to take a mason jar poke holes in the lid put it in a vac sealed bag, suck all the air out and put it in my attic in Texas for 2 days it always came out great, but it is hard to do that when you are running 1 to 2 lbs of material. I believe that is what the OP said he ran

Would a vac chamber on a heat source work similar to a vac oven? It was butane its all in the description
