Extra week of darkness?

"its recommended to keep it in total darkness for the last 5 days to stimulate aroma and resin production" this is what diafem say about their shark attack and another strain.
im unfamiliar with this tactic alltogether but was thinkin of trying it out , but only if its worth it, anybody know anything on this method?

just skimming over a few posts from what i thought was a vet here, but couldn't remember his name said, 48 hrs of darkness is perfect before picking.

can this b done with outdoor?

I've heard that 24 hours of darkness prior to harvest will plump up the resin glands. I dont think that 48 would hurt though. Im not so sure about doing it outdoors. It would be pretty hard to cover the plants for a whole day..

Well, if you cut them down, they are still alive for about 24 hours. They go through a process of death. I have had a male plant cut at stem in water for a week in kitchen lol.(it was pointless). But when they are harvested they go through the stage of extra resin reproduction, dont they?

Im pretty sure thats why they are hung upside down and in a dark cool room. That may have sounded like sarcasm, but it wasnt. lol
