Extra light?

I have a 2x2x5 tent and a mars hydro sp150 led. It says it puts out 130 of actual wattage. I was thinking of getting another one for the tent. Would that be money well spent?

If not, any recommendations of how to spend a few bucks? Unfortunately buyIng a bigger one isnt an option at the moment

As long as you can take any added heat from the second light more light is always good
There are limits though. Especially if not CO2 enriched. He currently has 32.5 watts per sqft running LED. This isn't maxed out but it's definitely within the range of acceptable for ambient CO2 levels. If he had a taller tent then perhaps side lighting but the space for that is severely limited with only a 2x2 foot print.

I love light, I use lots of side lighting and I am all for maxing out production, that said there may be better ways for him to get more out of his grow and money.

If the light is sufficient you could look into adding 730nm reds for Emerson and end of day or uva/uvb treatments
There are a bunch of threads out there with info on this and in that small tent it would be pretty cheap to add

ive been doing a lot of looking into sourcing some 285-395nm low wattage strips for testing the benefits of them. maybe something you could look into if your just looking to get a bit more quality out of your babies <3 theres a couple 10w options for around 50$ +shipping on alibaba, order at your own risk. but i don't see why the science would be there but not the actual product. as stated im researching this so if you are interested id sudgest researching a bit before pulling the trigger on an order! im still a ways from dialing in my grow so the additional suplemental lighting won't really benifit me until i get my grow down. but i like to plan ahead

I dunno enough about your grow and what all stuff you have and whatnot. But stuff like a quality pH meter perhaps if you don't have one. TBH I don't know what your past crops looked like and where you might need to make changes. If it's your first grow and all is going well so far but it's early then put the money is a safe place for when that 'situation' pops up and you need something and you need it now. If you added more light then like @Nizza mentioned some 730nm reds perhaps. but if this is just your first run stick with the wattage you have and lets see how that does and save the money for something you may really need down the line.

Thanks renfro. Ive done one organic grow with 3 plants. They all made it, not great yield, but I didnt kill them. I am growing a plant in coco l(first try) and i have a handful of plants outside in pots and the ground. My water is hard so Ive been using distilled or dehumidifier water

- 2x2x5 tent
- 4” inline exhaust fan
- apera ph/tds meter
- mars hydro sp150 light
- one large dehu outside the tent
- two mini heaters in the tent

Your advice is spot on. Ill try(operative word) and sit on my hands as I learn more on this round. Thanks again

You should make sure to add calmag to the water. The water is generally the main source of calcium and magnesium so being you are using distilled or dehu water you need to add those minerals back. I recommend the calimagic stuff from GH because it has less nitrogen than other calmags.

I just got calimagic a few days ago. Do You generally recommend cal/mag with every feeding?

Think of it as just making the water good. Use it always at 5mL per gallon if you are using RO, distilled or condensate h2o.
