Can I add length to my ballast cords. I need ten more foot. It wouldn't be your run of the mill extension cord but rather a heavy duty rated cord. But is this advisible.

Can't think of a reason in the world you couldn't use an extension cord.

It HAS to be rated for the amps it's drawing

If you have concerns just rewire it with a proper length cord and be done with it.
