Extension cords into a light controller w 3 plug adaptors?

Is there a certain type of extension cord you recommend? I'm thinking of putting a 4 plug light control box in the middle room that separates two veg rooms, and have extension cords feed to the light control box. There are 2 Hlg 260's in each veg room, 4 total. My question is, what is the best way to achieve this? I think if I power the light controller at 240v, it will free up some power? Also, as each light is only 260w, and each plug on the control box can handle a 1000w light, is it ok if I use one extension cord with a three way adaptor to conect the two lights in each room, then feed just one extension cord to the controller from each room? Resulting in only two extension cords, and only 2 plugs on the controller, with room to grow. Is this ok? Thanks for your help.

Sure. That's fine. 500W per tent.

Cheap 16ga extension cords will be more than sufficient going from (controller) <-> (tent 3way + 500W of driver).

If your wall is 120VAC (21A), then:
You'll need at least a 12ga extension cord from (wall) <-> (controller box).

^^Stick to 50ft or less, the shorter the better.

If your wall is 240VAC (10.5A), then:
You'll need at least a 14ga extension cord from (wall) <-> (controller box).

^^Stick to 50ft or less, the shorter the better.

If your building circuit is wired for the current then you'll need a 12ga or 14ga extension from the (wall) <-> (controller box), and cheap 16ga extension cords from (controller box) <-> (tent + 3way + 500W driver) will work fine.

Edit- that's assuming a max of 2,000W total, or (4) ext cords plugged into 4 controller box outlets, with a max of 500W for each controller box outlet or cord, or (2) ext cords plugged into 2 controller box outlets, with a max of 1kW for each cord/outlet.

I'm going to have a 240v line put in to feed into the light controller as the main hub for the lights. That's great info...thanks a lot.
