Experiences with T5 flouro lights durring flowering?

I generally run 1000watt hps lights during the flowering cycle, and generally yield ~1.5lbs per light. I'm considering switching to t5 lights, using the warm bulbs in a 4' * 8 bulb fixture, to save on money on electricity.

I'll probably replace each hps light with 2 t5 lights. I'm wondering if anyone has experience flowering with t5's and how much bud they were generally able to produce and if the buds noticibly diminished in size.

CFL grower here, but I'm assuming it would diminish quite a bit. How many watts are you planning on doing?

I have t5's and if 1,000 HPS is your benchmark I think that you will be very disappointed.

I'm planning on using quite a few Sun Blaze 4ft x 8tube T5 flouros (replacing every 3 hps lights with 4-5 t5s) with warm spectrum tubes (same as I use during veg when I use cool tubes) they are advertised as having a 40,000 lumen output and pulling 432 watts each

For an experiment, I've got a plant in soil at day 32 of flowering under nothing more than a panel of 8 2ft T5s, for 192 total watts. She's looking good and healthy and the trich production is kickin into high gear. From what I've seen in pictures, the buds are significantly smaller than what comparable wattage HPS would have produced at this timepoint. On the other hand, I've LSTd her and there are multiple tops within 2 inches of the lights that still have some time to mature.

Hey, I'm actually in the process of of growing with only t5s, and I think it will work out fairly well. I haven't gotten to the flowering stage yet, but if you check out my journal "The Great T5 Adventure" you can see how my experiment works out, and decide for yourself! 40,000 lumens @ 2 or 3 inches above the canopy will produce quite a lot of energy for the plant to use. One main issue with t5s is that they can't penetrate the plant canopy as well as HID lights, so it might make sense to use a cfl or two to light the sides of the grow.
