ok i am growing in a 2' x 3' x 8' room right now i am useing 3 120 cm cpu fans, estamated at 90 cfm. i have 2 up top for exhaust and one at the bottom for intake. still have to hook them up. Or should i get a 6 in. inline fan? whitch set up would be better.

The inline will get the job done better and more efficiently, but will be louder.

Is noise an issue?

I think your original plan should work fine but keep your eye on temps(don't know what kind of light you're using). Inline fans are kinda loud, yes. I run a 4" 174CFM fan it's definitely noticeable if you're in the room but luckily it can't really be heard outside the room.

i have a 400w hps/mh lighting system. going on the theory that hot air rises thats why i put 2 exhaust fans up top, but i have been hearing that the cpu fans may not be enough. on the other hand 2 of the cpu fans are about the same as the in line witch makes more noise. but everyone is saying that the in line fans are better. just tryin to figure out why.

If your conditions are ok I say leave it be.

An inline fan is probably more efficient but it is certainly louder than the CPU fans.

Whats your humidity? Whats your temp?

Those two things should answer if you need an upgrade.

i have a 80 cfm inline fan from home depot aircooling my 400hps and another as an intake. it seems to be working ok but temps are still getting pretty high. noise is an issue with us too so its made everything a huge pain in the ass. let me know how your temps are when you start to test it.

Yeah, the best thing to do is run your light for an hour or two during the day to get an idea of what maximum temps are going to be. If you're safely under 85 degrees you're good to go, otherwise an inline fan may be necessary.

I grew in that same closet for a while. 2x3x8. I put a plywood divider at 3' so I had a 2x3x3 T5 veg room and a 2x3x5 400hps flower room. You will need to be air cooled and have a 6" 440cfm or better, but it is possible. During the summer I needed to have a full time exhaust going so 2 good fans is a must.

ok i hooked up 2 of the 3 cpu fans not doing to much. might do better if the room was completely sealed, might add another one at the bottom and see what happens.
