I'm about to start putting everything together for my 400hps grow, and I planned on venting my light hood just into the room, since it would just be hot air. But I noticed that the light fixture isnt exactly air tight so would be pulling some air from inside the grow box too and exhausting it along with the hot air. Wont this make my room smell??
Im running a carbon filter on a seperate fan to exhaust the grow box.

Yes even if you tape the shit out of the lights it seems some how to still get in there and you'll for sure smell it. You need to exhaust it through some kind of filter system. Maybe a ozone would work, but I wouldn't want it coming into my bedroom. Your best bet it not to have anyone over during flowering which pretty much mean NEVER.

I removed the glass and put the thinnest weather stripping I could find at Lowes around the edge of the glass. There was already a strip on the metal hood, but the second layer really put a good seal on it. After that, no more stinkin' through the hood.
