Exhaust ventilation question. Can it tie into furnace PVC exhaust?

I was curious if I could exhaust air through a ducting system then connected into the furnace PVC exhaust pipe that goes out the roof? But I wasn't sure if it would cause problems for my furnace or be dangerous somehow?

I am having trouble finding a way to exhaust my stale air. Its in a basement with no ways to cut holes in any walls.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry I cant answer your first question, but if heat isnt an issue, and youre pulling air from the whole basement for a small grow, I can assure you your air is not getting "stale".

It is in a closet in a room in the basement. I would like to shut the door to the closet eventually and exhaust the air out of the closet.

I wouldn't mess with it...it's important that the exhaust from your hotwater heater or heater goes outside your home...it's getting rid of poisonous carbon monoxide. There's most likely an easier, safer way.

If you realllly want to tap into it to remove additional exhaust, add a 'Y' pipe inline, angled up. This will create an upwards pressure and create a venturi that will continue to suck exhaust from the heater as well. Hope that makes sense...but I recommend against it....I'm only mentioning it as a last resort to make it a little safer.

The results could be deadly. The furnace is exhausting carbon monoxide. Pressurizing the exhaust will force deadly fumes back into your house.

It could work if the blower is down stream from both the furnace and the growroom exhaust connection, but I still wouldn't advise it. The efficiency of the furnace will suffer

Not a good idea and I installed my furnace. what about your dryer vent

No basement window? they make windows with exhaust vents built in for basement

NO!!!

The PVC pipe is exhaust for gas fumes and carbon monoxide. If you tie into that and get a backdraft, you'll flood your house with hazardous fumes. Not only that, but it's illegal as hell. You'd probably get in bigger trouble for that than you would the plants themselves if caught doing it.

it can be done safelywith a y joint but the pvc above said joint would have to be enlarged all the way thur roof from 4in too 6-8 in to handle extra air,pvc so must be gas burner power vent?gas is fine not oil burner neverbeen gas tech 20 yrs not legal but its safe long as vent is sized proper

Welcome most home depot lowes or the like will have it. Or y into the dryer what state are you in
