exhaust ?'s

How do I calculate for the exhaust fan I need, I see they come in all different cfm. Also, I currently have no intake exhaust fan, only output. I do however have 2 intake ports low in the room, when my exhaust comes on I can feel the air coming in, but I seem to be reaching a higher humidity than I would like. Is it possible to lower my humidity if I added an exhaust fan to my intake and put it on the same timer.

Also curious how often everyone vents their room. I have been on 1 minute every 5 min. And Im not sure of the cfm to my output fan either.

i controlmy humidity by my intake and exhaust fans. i run my intake and exhaust when the light are on. i run a higher humidity during veg and go as low as 20% during flower

my room is leakproof from light.

would I need the same cfm for intake output?
that yourgoing tohave to figure out. just hook up a light dimmer switch to controle your fan speeds cuz your going to have to set one speed higher then the other. pending on what heat and humidity range you want to run.

Don't think the light dimmer is a good Idea. Most are rated at 1.5 amps and will burn out or burn your fan out. They are not rated for fans. Not worth the risk for a couple bucks more. Look for the fan control on the box and 5 amps. This will work for a 4" fan. If you can find a solid-state control, more money but worth it.

You should be able to change the air in your room every 1 to 2 minutes.

so a 10 x 10 x 8 room is 800 square feet you need a fan that can push 400 cfpm to change the air every 2 min.

Buy the right size a little bigger is better that smaller. Try not to us a reducer as the up the noise level. Hang them from bungee cords the thick black ones. Stops the vibration going through the structure.

Hope this helps you out.
