Exhaust noise problem.....

Thanks to all for taking the time to look at my thread.

I have a grow closet that now that it is summer time is getting hot. So I built a contraption so I am able to set a window AC in the closet and shut the door. The closet is outside on my patio and I live at an APT and for the AC contraption to work I have to ventilate the box around the AC with intake and outtake inline fans. I will be venting the outtake from the grow tent and the AC box out a vent hole that will be cut at the base of the closet and capped. My problem/concern is the 680 cfm's of air that will be coming out of the exhaust will be loud enough and constant enough to raise suspicion.............. Any ideas on how to quiet the noise of the air blowing out of the exhaust vent?

The moving air is what I find is the loudest part. I got around mine by making a silencer, mine is just a box on the end of the outtake that has lots of smaller vent holes (enough so there is no pressure) & filled loosely with fiber fill... works a treat!

they are on the market

they are called duct mufflers ..........it is basicaly a carbon filter shell with foam inside it it slows the exiting air and reduces the sound

the part i wanted to add u might thing about a swamp cooler vs a AC ..........the cooler can handle about 20 25 degrees (just add a frozen jug of water in the swamp cooler) cools the water cools the air even more will last u say 6/8 hours on a really hot day 12 /24 on just a bit warm days before u have to replace the water

Swap cooler sounds like a good idea except they are around 4 to 600 dollars.

just add a frozen jug of water to make it more effective ..........in the groecy stores they sell water jugs somewhere in the jugs is a 2 and half gallon jug (might be distilled water) .....get 3 of those and just take off the spogot dump some water out (quart of water) freeze them .........they should get u 12hours so with 3 u always have a fresh one (one in use one freezing one frozen)

just make sure u leave enough of the bucket so the walls are not weak
