Exhaust/intake fan.

So I’m growing in a 4x2x4 grow tent. My garage stays pretty chilly at night right now. I have a humidifier and space heater inside the tent to keep things regulated. Which so far it’s done a good job. Temp: Low 68 high 75. Humidity 38%-55%.

-hydro grow
-small clip fan circulating
Just to help get an idea of my set up.

My problem and question is do I need to run my exhaust fan all the time? Becuase it seems like I’m regulating the temps in my grow tent just to cycle in chilly air from the garage. Could I just run my exhaust fan during the day when the temps are a little warmer? Like during my lights off period (11a-5p lights off)? Maybe even 12 on 12 off? I can’t find a good answer anywhere..

Help!
Thank you,
RF :D

Has this worked before? Last year? Its going to be hard to grow especially were I live, in an unheated garage.

No previous experience. Only my second grow. First grow was in the summer and I dealt with the opposite problem lol I couldn’t get the hot humid air out fast enough

You want to keep the temps up above 68 degrees or you will have powdery mildew problems. What I do is heat the room the tent is in and then regulate the temp of the tent by running the exhaust fan 24/7. So for example, right now I am keeping my room at 68 degrees F while my tent is between 78-82 degrees F. You need to exhaust the tent or the air will get stale. It might seem like you are only heating the tent up just to cool it down, that will not be so drastic if you can maintain the room temp better.

Also, don't forget when you flip to flower there must be NO light in the tent, that will typically eliminate the humidifier and space heater from inside the tent because they usually have lights on them.
