Exaust and filter ?

Im running a 8x'8'x8' room with 1000w hps. One wall is fake with panda with about 5'x8'x8' behind that fake wall.. Circulating fan, heater and 12 girls. My question is how big of an exaust fan, filter do I need? And its upstairs in my house. Should I exaust thru the ceiling into the attic or thru the window out side. Id rather not have anything going out side but if I have to I will. The other question I have is heat regulation. Do you run the exaust 24/0 or manipulate it so that the temps dont fluctuate to much..Say, like 15 on 15 off or something to that effect. My fresh air will be passive thru the bottom of the door and such.

Thanks for the input!

with a 1000W I wouldn't go with less then a 8" with speed control, that or two 6" one for the cool tube/hood (hope you got one if not vertical growing ?) and one for fresh air/co2

I would vent it to the attic, no problem, get a filter to match the ventilation both in size and in CMF (CMF have to be the same or bigger so the filter is able to take the sug from the ventilation or more)

I did`t get how you plan to run it ? but I run my 6" on my 600W 24/7 as the plant will need fresh air/co2 all the time, my fans only run when light is on, if you choose two 6" you could run one 24/7 for fresh air/co2 with the filter on and let the other run sealed on the cool hood/tube when light is on (just a suggestion tho) so you use one to provide fresh air/co2 and one to only cool the bulb/hood

remember to make that passive intake 2-3x the size of the out take ventilation, and light proof, don't want any light leaks when lights off, specially when flowering ..

Ok, so I should filter intake air also? I suppose it wouldnt hurt right. I have a industrial type fan with a 6 inch out with a 5 in. Ill see if I can find a pic of it.

It looks kinda like this. The motor is enclosed though. I got it free and its new. Kinda loud but for now could be used right?

no need to filter air going in, well unless you expect to get Bug problems or similar, then you can get some kind of bag/filter, no, not what I meant, I mean to light proof it as you don't want ANY light doing light off ..

if you got a 6" sumthing like this:

vents_vk_fan_thumb.jpg

you only need a filter to fit on it

but IMO a single 6" ventilation for your size room running a 1000W wont be enough, I would for sure look in to a cool hood for that 1000W

and get a ventilation just for that maybe use the one you have for that and get a nice one with speed control for your room/fresh air

fuck! It wont let me post a pic. Basicly the intake is on the side and the out is on top with a base to mount with. So the air makes a 90 degree turn inside the thing. But it sure moves some air.

yes start out with that, maybe do a trail run with out the plants and see what your temps will be like in there and if you need more/a bigger one

now that you have one 6" I would for sure go for two ventilations, one for fresh air/co2 exchange that run 24/7 to the attic that you can fit a filter on once they begin to flower/stink, and one more that run sealed on the 1000W hood

dunno if you get what I mean ? what Im trying to tell you is that a 1000W will get hot, a cool hood is a must IMO unless you live in Alaska ?
and with a cool hood you will also need a ventilation, most (me included) run it on one strain with the filter and it might also work for you ?

or you could choose to go vertical growing

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=127881

and just get a filter to fit your ventilation but a cool tube would still be a good investment with a 1000W

need more info (what is your plans) and some pics would also help Ppl. give you better advice, no matter what you will like to be able to post em in the future as well to get more help .. or brag ;) so might aswell find that camera and begin to post pics, as pics some how make Ppl. much more helpful, and in the fist place even bother to look at your post

well watch a few of Jorges Videos and you already learned a lot ..

but yea there is a few hand books out there, do some research

and no don't use the vent. to blow at your plants, use it to pull air out of the room (with a filter on once they starts to smell)
