No kid should go hungry in the US. Providing meals to food insecure kids is a good investment for the future. Republicans won't provide them because they don't want to. simple as that.

If Biden is on the ball he should use whatever powers it takes to underwrite the financing needed to supply those programs and make sure the word gets out that it's Democrats who are filling their kid's bellies.
Be bipartisan about it tho. Buy those red state's local produce etc to help create jobs and boost the local economies for extra Brownie points.

I was in Portland when the Proud Boys first showed up to participate in the fascist parades they attempted in that city. They may be less informed and maybe some are stupid but they are scary dudes. A lot of them are.

To tell the truth, the first confrontations were silly and that was the intent of counter protesters. Proud Boys came there to fight and they were defeated on that point.
They came to Portland to project MAGA power onto the streets of Portland and to fight. They went home with some good video footage but they also looked silly. Which ANTIFA also appeared to be. ANTIFA didn't care, their objective was to make right wing goons look silly and they did. Proud Boys hated them for that. That was the last time equal numbers showed up. In 2018, maybe 500 "Patriot Prayer" and Proud Boy protesters were met with thousands of counter protesters. They were intimidated. The differences couldn't be more stark. After that, they were careful to stay behind police cordons. Then in 2020, Trump sent shock troops from his Homeland Security force. It got pretty bad for a while. By then, I stopped attending because Covid was too great a threat to my mother in law who was too weak to risk. Who wants to be the one who killed their wife's mother by infecting her with Covid? So I stopped going but the scene in summer of 2020 in Portland was a nightmare.

I was there to witness, not fight. Proud Boys didn't know what to do when these heroes stood in their way. By 2020, tactics changed and Oath Keepers or Proud Boys and the mob of thousands they led in DC on Jan 6 would have rolled over these people. That's how things have changed.
Those people are in jail right now but many are still out there, waiting for a fascist leader to cover for them like Trump did when he was POTUS.

Good read, thanks. I believe the ideology they espouse is scary and when they gather in numbers and gain that tribal courage is scary, (but like you pointed out) they don't have enough self respect to stand behind their beliefs when outnumbered by people with opposing views. People in that last picture get off on feeling power because they play dress up to look menacing, yet these same tough guys are sobbing when sent to prison because of their own actions. It is my opinion that the people that are vulnerable in joining into these kinds of ideological groups, to obtain any kind of power, will be less likely to want to join a group that the majority of society is not showing any respect to. These clowns in costumes are not tough or scary, they are a joke. Showing fear (which to the demented is a form of respect) is not going to help in preventing its spread. The common thread between what your post said and what I hope my post said is those guys might look tough but they are soft as marshmallows inside. I saw them scream and run away when somebody threw a vegan milkshake at them. Later on, the Portland police said they were throwing cement at the fascists. Later, later on, they admitted that was a fake story. But they hated Portland counter protesters because we made them look foolish. We mocked them. And your post mocked them too. So it's all good.
Whatever gets that good, deep shake-the-belly until it hurts laughter going about those assholes, do it.
And, this guy deserves to be mocked:
