i just cloned for the first time in a diy bubble cloner going to a diy aero box. Took 6 1/2 days for the first roots to show. My clones are in a small res, so i've found my ph rises over 24hrs from 5.8 to almost 8, so i've been replacing every 12 hours. My first roots sprouted from a lower branchy cutting that had 2 fan leaves and 4 regular ones, none clipped.
I've been using 3% H2o2 at Al. B. Fucts' recommendation
"Yes, add 1ml per litre of reservoir volume of 50% (horticultural grade) H2O2 every 3-4 days. If you can only get 3% pharmacy grade H2O2, use 17ml/litre."
My clones also came from a 2 week flowering plant, so i assume that made it take a little longer. I cut the stem at 45 and i skinned the bottom 1/2 inch on one side. Didnt split the stem or anything. Dipped in rooting gel, but next time ill soak them for 20 minutes.
When i first put them under 400w hps it was 5 days after cutting, and that was clearly too much for them.
I didn't use a humidity dome but i might next time, although i didnt experience any drooping, just some slight yellowing arround the edges.
what kind of medium are u using to hold your clones in your cloner? Mine are sitting in 1 inch long 1/4 inch plastic tube covered in tape to block light and cut up the side, those sitting in holes drilld into a rubbermaid tupperware lid. Ill be cutting the lid they go into apart to get em out
but i needed one of these tupperwares as a humidity dome anyway. Next time ill use a peice of styrofoam instead of the lid i think.
What medium ae they going into? Im going to be using hydroton, so im going to wait untill the roots are long enough to hang out of the pots when i transplant, but id gues they could be a lot shorter if ur using rockwool.
I'm going to give them one week to veg and recover on water and H2O2 once plante in my aero unit, then start nutes at 400ppm for a couple days, then 800 for a few days then 1000 for a week, 1200 for a week, 1400 for two weeks, then 800 again and then water with h2o2 till harvest.
sorry to rant on and on lol. good luck with your clones!
