One of my favorite squats was in Seattle - inbetween Cap Hill and U-district. This little double story house that had had a fire upstairs. Made the room downstairs with the zebra-carpeting mine. Upstairs there was still a pool table 
It was behind a little hole in the wall Mexican burrito place, and across the street only an office building and no real neighbors insight (next door was abandoned as well). Made the mistake of inviting too many people and you know how that goes, but she was soon destined to be demolished so no matter....
I'd like to add, I've never considered myself "homeless".........houseless yes, but homeless no. The earth is my home.
