By ethel you mean ethylene, it is a hormone that does help keep female plants female but can cause major wilting. The commercial products that use this are sensa-spray and DutchMaster Reverse (used only with DutchMaster 'Penetrator'). I recommend the latter because it doesn't cause the severe wilting that sensa-spray can and it's a better product that is easier to use. The Dutchmaster combination is much more expensive but easier to find. I have used it myself, but it can NOT force a male plant to become female, nothing can. The product Sensa-Soak, a seed treatment, claims to, but usually just ends up deforming and mutating your plants causing more hermies in the end. Only use these if you have stressed your plants (late repotting, light leaks durring flowering etc) to prevent stress causing hermies, but they are not good for anything else.

would love to have some feminized seeds...good old uncle sam says no can buy seeds here...went all the way to amsterdam and spent $50 for 8 seeds....3 germinated, how inconvenient to go back and get more...
