Espoma products?

Would'nt recommend for herb. Not that they are bad products, more that they provide fungus that arnt geared toward increasing your results with cannabis.
 
Dude, THe Espoma line is ABOLUTELY fantastic for growing weed. Plant Tone, or Bio Tone starter Plus is a great veg fert, the Bulb tone cant be beat for flowering. Espoma is a staple in my garden, even tho I almost exclusively use manures, castings and compost now. I HIGHLY reccomend a newbie to organics and soil use them. They are inexpensive, well formulated and every product they sell is great. It cant get any easier than that for a newbie to soil and organics. GREAT results.

Herb is a "weed" that hs evolved to grow in almost any environment. MJ doesnt need "special nutes", just less of what a domestic ornamental would ned. The biggest prob most newbies have is over feeding/watering.

green4life, im just gonna assume you never used them because if you did you wouldnt have posted this statement.





Mel, dont listen to this because like jack said, there products are great. ive used plant tone in my soil mix as a stand alone fertilizer and it works very well. what i use now is the bio tone starter plus along with blood, bone, kelp, guano, azomite and lime and ive never been happier with my plants. i get there potting mix where im at for $5 per cu ft so i just use that now as my base and add my ferts to it. you cant beat it for the price as it has good consistency and has endo and ecto myco's already added in. use it, you wont be sorry.
 
I've been using s similar product line from Jobes and I seem to get pretty good results from them. I use the Jobes Organics (not spikes, granular/powder) line because it seems to be readily available in my area. It is supposed to have mycorrhizal fungi and several beneficial strains of bacteria, but who knows? Seems to work well, I have no complaints thus far.
 
I've never used Jobes, but I hear wonderful stuff from those who do. I'm the kinda guy the thinks "If it aint broke, don't fix it" But one day maybe I'll do a side by side. Espoma is more readily available here, so thats what I use

Just curious. How do you know that " they provide fungus that aren't geared toward increasing your results with cannabis"?
 
I use the greensand, rock phosphates, kelp meal and gypsum. Great products. Couldn't make super soil without them.
 
They need to advertise on these sites. Scotts/Miracle Gro is getting into the MJ market, why not Espoma? I highly recommend anyone who wants to start growing organic start with the Espoma line until they get a good understnding of how organics work.
 
I used to pick-up from espoma at their plant in n.j. back in the late 70's when I drove truck.The place smelled like old rotten fish. I've been useing it ever since.Great stuff for mj and the rest of my garden.
 
I used the garden tone mixed in with pots and i got of the best results and biggest buds yet. It is hot in N so id recomend veging a bit if using it to burn off some N
 
I switched from Epsoma 5-3-3 to Organicare 6-6-5 because it is OMRI listed. The feather meal and chicken manure in Epsoma is not necessarily from organically fed layers.
 
espoma is GREAT STUFF!

organics is the way to grow for sure and until you make your own soil mixes, ewc, compost etc this is PERFECT to get you started in the right direction.
 
How much of the espoma bag do I add to say a bag of soil? What is the usual ratio used with the bio tone, flower tone, and plant tone? Is it strong stuff? Only use a cup or the whole bag or more?
 
ive used 4- 4 1/2 cups of plant tone per cubic foot with good results. i also mix in 2-4 cups of the bio tone. you need to let it sit for a few weeks like anything else.
