i wouldnt recommend it .. with the perfume in it .. plain epsom salts do add a little more sodium then you would want ... calmag or something like it is best ..

Get the epsom salts with NO perfume or anything else added from the drug or grocery store.

It is 100% identical to the horticultural stuff, just cheaper. The only difference is the packaging/price.

I would stay away from epsom salt because you are going for magnesium and the magnesium in epsom salt cant be absorbed without calcium.

if you go with botanicare calmag you will not be disappointed. I used to do the epsom salt thing and still had lockout. Sometimes it would fix it but I was still have micro nute issues. the grass is always greener on the calmag side of the fence.trust me.

epsom salt does not have sodium in it
it is magnesium solfate and sold in drug stores for pennies

The cal/mag from Botanicare uses nitrates, so you get some nitrogen with it. The Botanicare product gives the same results as epsom salts, but it's not the same. However, the CaMg+ product from General Organics is calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate...otherwise known as epsom salt and common chalk. The General Organics product suspends the epsom salt (1%) and chalk (5%) in a handy molasses/sugar water solution.
